LEGO Technic Top Gear Teaser on Facebook

Yesterday, the LEGO Technic team shared a teaser video of The Stig from Top Gear working on a secret project. The first half of the video shows him driving a green Porsche 911 GT3 RS. If you pause the video when he shows the passport, it shows a date of April 31 so that could be a clue, possibly for a reveal or a release date.

Earlier this year, LEGO did announce a LEGO Fast & Furious partnership and there’s a chance that it could be the blue Porsche from Fast Five. I’m just making guesses but the connections are somewhat there. The only thing that doesn’t mesh up is that the press release for the LEGO Technic Fast & Furious set will be available on April 27.

LEGO Technic Top Gear Rumored Set Details

A few days ago, it was announced that LEGO is partnering up with the newer version of Top Gear to release a LEGO Technic set that will be released next year. The details were pretty much nonexistent but it looks like the folks at Promobricks has found out something about it. It is reported that it will be set number 42109 and it will have 463 pieces while retailing for €129.99. It will also implement the new CONTROL+ system and controlled using the app. It was also stated that the set will be a white rally car with some stickers of The Stig and the UK flag. As always, these are strictly rumors until LEGO officially announces the set or it shows up at a verified retailer.

LEGO Technic Top Gear Set Coming in 2020

LEGO has announced a new partnership with the hit BBC TV show Top Gear to produce a LEGO Technic Top Gear set that is set to be released in 2020. As you may remember, there was a rumor from many years ago that we could be getting Top Gear sets which ended up becoming the LEGO Speed Champions theme.

This new Technic set will be based on the BBC Two show starring Paddy McGuinness, Freddie Flintoff, and Chris Harris. BBC Studios Head of Licensing, Jason Easy, states, “It’s certainly a natural fit for both and we’re looking forward to seeing the LEGO Technic Set hit the shelves next year.”

There’s no word on whether we’ll get the three in minifigure form but considering that it’s a Technic set, it’ll probably just be a larger scale vehicle.

Thanks to Richie for the heads up.

LEGO Top Gear Sets Coming in 2015?

Remember last year when we reported that Top Gear asked random people to take a survey on possibly bringing vehicles from the show into LEGO form? We doubted it but a new report from CM4Sci over on Eurobricks may ease my doubts just a little.

He has posted a list of “Super Car” sets, again from David Thomsen, which makes it seem that a LEGO Top Gear theme could be happening in 2015. If not, they may just be more Creator sets or maybe TECHNIC sets based on those supercars. The pricing is in New Zealand Dollars so USD will be a little lower than what is shown below. Again, take this information as rumors but it may seem that these are legit. Another question is “Who is David Thomsen?”

La Ferrari (75899) – 24.99/$20
458 Italia GT2 (75908) – 24.99/$20
McLaren P1 (75909) – 24.99/$20
Porsche 918 Spyder (75910) – 24.99/$20
McLaren Mercedes Pit Stop (75911) – 69.99/$60
Porsche 911 GT Finish Line (75912) – 99.99/$80
T & F14 Ferrari Truck (75913) – 179.99/$150

**Note: The image above was from the Top Gear survey from last year and NOT the rumored sets reported.**
