LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham Plastic Man Plane Revealed

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham - Plastic Man Plane

The official LEGO Batman Twitter page has revealed Plastic Man as a single engine plane for LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. This is probably one of the many goofy outfits that Plastic Man has in the game. As we all know, TT Games likes to include humor with each of their games and this is no doubt one of the many humorous things that we can expect to see. This may even be a good use of game mechanics to use him as part of the open world play where we use him to fly around the stages.

The development team for LEGO Batman 3 has been pretty quiet since E3 but hopefully we’ll be getting some more details about the game soon like at San Diego Comic Con next month. Arthur Parsons has also hinted that they might reveal something else if the LEGO Batman Twitter page hits 10,000 followers so we’ll see when it does reach that milestone.

LEGO Minifigures Online First Impressions

LEGO Minifigures Online

Now that LEGO Minifigures Online is in open beta, I can finally talk about my experience so far about the game while I was testing it in the closed beta. When you first start, you choose between three teams of three minifigures. After that, you go through a short tutorial of how to play the character and the game features. If you’ve played any sort of RPGs before, you’re probably already familiar with how the game will play.

Within the options menu, you find a tab that is for “Shop” which is essentially the game’s main cash grab. There are a variety to purchase a number of things such as more minifigures to use in-game, potions, diamonds, as well as the membership. Although technically you don’t have to spend real money to play the game because you can spend the diamond currency that you can pick up in-game, it will be somewhat faster and more “fun” because you’ll be unlocking a number of features that the free version doesn’t have. One of these features is the Pocket Adventures which are essentially dungeons that give more loot. One other feature that I felt shouldn’t be subscription-only is the chat function. Currently there is no way to communicate with other players unless you are a member which is, how can I put it lightly, stupid. The purpose of MMOs is to play with other people and communicating with them is essential to plan out strategies and whatnot. But if everyone is playing for free and there’s no … Continue

LEGO Minifigures Online Now in Open Beta

Many people have been waiting for this piece of news for a long time now. The Closed Beta for LEGO Minifigures Online ended a few days ago which meant that Funcom was ready to roll out the Open Beta very soon and that day is today. You can now go in and try out LEGO Minifigures Online by clicking “Play Now!” All you have to have is your LEGOID to start playing.

A few weeks ago, I was invited to take part of the Closed Beta and my first impressions were, “This may work.” It’s basically your standard MMO where you level up your character and upgrade your skills as you progress in the game. Throughout the beta, you will be able to test out various charcters in a couple of worlds and provide feedback to the developers.

The game is based on the popular LEGO Collectible Minifigures theme and Funcom is hoping that they will translate into a great gaming experience as well. Check out the official Funcom press release below.

LEGO Minifigures Online Open Beta

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham IGN Interview and Superboy Announced

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham Screencap

On the last day of E3 2014, Arthur Parsons has done an interview with IGN and there are some more juicy details about LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. Earlier today, it was revealed that Aquaman will be a playable character in the game with another character being annonuced later in the day. During the interview, Arthur revealed that Superboy will also be in the game and will also be voiced by Scott Porter.

The other notable thing that was touched on was the side-scrolling space stage. From the gameplay trailers, you can see that it is very similar to the Playstation 4’s Resogun. The developers wanted to give players a new way to experience the vehicles and that was a way they could do it. In free play mode, you can also use various characters such as Superman or Martian Manhunter to fly around in those particular stages.

Other than that, there wasn’t other new details that were revealed at the interview. One small thing that was mentioned was that LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham will be available on every game system possible including Mac and PC.

In Arthur’s Twitch interview, he mentioned something about a physical Space Batman minifigure. I’m not sure if that will be the exclusive bonus minifigure for pre-ordering the game or it will be in a future LEGO set. Just something to throw out there and ponder. Check out the full interview below.
