Post Your Entries for the LEGO Ideas Moments in Space Contest

LEGO Ideas Moments in Space

Yesterday, I reported that the crowd voting stage for the LEGO Ideas Moments in Space contest was underway. This stage is to find the top 25 entries out of a whopping 1,065 entries who participated. I’ve been asked by readers a few times already to feature their entries. While I can’t feature every single one, I’ll allow participants to leave a comment below to show off their own builds.

You may have noticed on each entry page that it doesn’t show the voes even though you have voted on a particular entry. According Hasan in the LEGO Ambassador Network, “The votes are intentionally hidden for this phase and will be revealed at the end of the contest.” This allows a level playing field since nobody knows how many votes an entry has gained. This also makes the whole thing a popularity contest to find the top 25 entries. I suggest using the filters to find which entries have the most discussions to gauge what is popular at the moment for the contest.

LEGO Ideas Moments in Space Crowd Vote Stage

LEGO Ideas Moments in Space

Last month, the LEGO Ideas team asked the community to build something that could potentially become a future Gift-with-Purchase item in a contest called Moments in Space. The deadline for submitting the entries is now over and it has moved on to the crowd vote part of the contest. Here you can vote on the submissions that you think are the best and would like to see as a GWP. The deadline to vote is February 19 and the top 25 entries will move on to the Judging Phase. There are over 1,000 entries and it may take some time to go through them but there are some really good ones.

LEGO Ideas SR-71A The Final Flight Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The SR-71A The Final Flight project by David Low, aka JustOneMoreBrick, is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The project is based on the SR-71 Blackbird that NASA used in their final flight for the fleet back in 1999. The model has the iconic look of the SR-71 and includes some features such as adjustable tailplanes, retractable undercarriage, and a cockpit for a minifigure.

The project now joins the Embraer A-29 Super Tucano as the projects to qualify for the First 2018 Review Stage.

LEGO Ideas Ship in a Bottle (21313) Unboxing

LEGO Ideas Ship in a Bottle (21313)

The LEGO Ideas Ship in a Bottle (21313) will be released later this week unless you were able to get it early yesterday at the Fashion Place LEGO Store signing event. LEGO was kind enough to send us an early copy of the set and here’s a short unboxing of it since many of you are curious of what it consists of.

The packaging is nicely detailed with a very nautical design. On the side of the box, there’s a large kraken chasing down the ship in the bottle. Like with the packaging for the recent previous LEGO Ideas sets, the box has the lift up flap to reveal the contents.

When you open up the box, you are greeted with seven bags numbered 1-4 along with four large trans-clear window pieces and the instruction booklet. As far as I remember, this is the second set that I’ve personally build that had the exact same parts in same bags, referring to the 1×1 trans-blue studs.

My full review of the LEGO Ideas Ship in a Bottle (21313) will go up February 1 which is the same date the set releases in stores and online so stay tuned.
