LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253) – Day 4

We’re already a sixth of the way into December and today’s build for the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253) is something that folks who have snow would be more familiar with. The build for today is a small 10-piece red sled that is big enough to fit a minifigure. Most of it looks nice but I’m not sure what the black modified plate on the back is for. Don’t judge me, I live in southern California where there is literally no snow unless I drive a few hours to the mountains.

LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253) – Day 3

Continuing with Day 3 of the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253), we finally get something that’s more synonymous with Christmas. Today we get a build for a reindeer and it looks very good given the parts that we have in this set. The 1×4 arch pieces are used for the body while some hinges along with clips and tooth pieces for the antlers. The nose is black but I took the liberty to change out the black stud to a red one to represent our favorite reindeer.

LEGO Seasonal Year of the Dog (40235) Set Revealed

As a yearly tradition in Asian countries, LEGO releases a set to celebrate the Lunar New Year or Chinese New Year. On February 16, the calendar rolls over to the new year and it’ll be the Year of the Dog in which there will be a set (40235) based on it.

As someone who was born on the Year of the Dog on the Chinese zodiac, I’ll definitely be wanting to pick up this set. If anyone wants to help me out in getting this set, let me know.

For Day 2 of the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253), we have a very interesting build that some may like and some may disagree with. Here we have sort of a mixture of animals that are incorporated into this one including a duck, parrot, and peacock.

The parts usage is good to an extent with a lot of color variety put into it. The tail is probably the holiday part of the build as it looks similar to a wreath.

LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253) – Day 1

For the first half of last month, you could’ve gotten a free LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253) set with purchases of $99 or more. I intentionially waited to do my review on it until we got to December because it fit more with the month. For the 2017 set, it has 254 pieces as compared to 250 from 2016.

The set comes with four un-numbered bags of parts along with a decent sized instruction booklet. There are 24 different individual builds and the idea for this set is to build the item for each day and then take apart for the next day. It may seem a little tedious but younger kids may enjoy it.

The first day of the Christmas Build Up (40253) is a nice looking pirate ship. There’s no intersting building techniques to it but the parts usage is on point. I do like how the sails are held up using the modified 1×2 plate. The ship isn’t holiday related but it’s a good nonetheless.

With three weeks left in the holiday shopping season, LEGO is sending out fliers to VIP members to incentive them with another returning promotional product. When you present the flyer above to a LEGO Store along with a $10 purchase or more, you can get the LEGO Seasonal Gingerbread Man (5005156) for free, until December 23. This is the same promo item from last year and if you missed it, you’ll have another chance to get it if you live by a LEGO Store and have the required flyer. This is the second returning promotional to be returning this year with the LEGO Seasonal Snowglobe (40223) being available for purchase again on Shop@Home.

LEGO Seasonal 2016 Christmas Ornament (40223)

If you missed out on the LEGO Seasonal Snowglobe (40223) promotion from last year, LEGO is now selling it on Shop@Home for $9.99 with a limit of five per customer. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing that LEGO is selling previous promotions as customers had to spend at least $99 to get it originally however this may start a trend of LEGO reselling their previous promo items at a later time for those who missed it.
