Upcoming September 2016 LEGO Star Wars Promotions

If you missed out on the LEGO Star Wars Darth Revan (5002123) minifigure back in 2014 or the then LUG member only Escape the Space Slug set earlier this year, there are some promotions that LEGO will be running for you to be able to get them, at least for guaranteed one of them.

First is the Darth Revan minifigure that will be given away with any LEGO Star Wars purchase at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home on September 30, 2016, while supplies last. Doesn’t look like there’s any other stipulations on it so that’s good. Plus, Force Friday 2016 for the Star Wars: Rogue One sets will be available so it’s pretty easy to get Darth Revan if you plan on purchasing something. Be sure you make your purchases then since this promo is only valid for that day.

For the Escape the Space Slug set, you have to be a LEGO VIP member and purchase the UCS Death Star (75159)icon during the VIP early access timeframe which is September 15-30, 2016. After you do that, you’ll be automatically be entered to win one of the limited edition sets. There’s a limit of one Death Star purchase with a particular VIP number so you can’t have multiple entries.

Update: I’ve been notified that over on the sweepstakes page, you can also enter without making a purchase.

LEGO Creator Winter Holiday Train (10254) and Star Wars Death Star (75159) Now Available for VIPs

LEGO Creator Winter Holiday Train (10254)

The holiday season is slowly creeping up and to kick it off, the LEGO Creator Winter Holiday Train (10254)icon is now available for VIP members on Shop@Home and at LEGO Brand Stores. The set contains 734 pieces and retails for $99.99.

Unlike last year when LEGO released the Winter Toy Shop (10249)icon, a lot of people were upset that it was basically just a re-release of a previous set however, the Winter Holiday Train is not a copy of the 10173 set from 2006. This set also has 16 curved train tracks included so you can create a whole circle. You can also motorize the train with Power Functionsicon but they are not included with the set.

LEGO Star Wars UCS Death Star (75159)

The other set is that available for VIPs today is the LEGO Star Wars Death Star (75159)icon. This version of the Death Star has similar features to the previous 10188 version but has slight updates and a couple of new minifigures. Although a lot of Star Wars fans may not like it because it’s pretty much a rehash of the old one, it is geared towards fans who have just started collecting LEGO Star Wars and missed out on the previous version which was recently retired. The Death Star (75159) will have 4,016 pieces and retail for $499.99.

One thing to note is that there aren’t any worthwhile promotions going on at this month so if you can hold off until October, you can get Double VIP points plus the Holiday Countdown Calendar (40222) with the … Continue

More LEGO Star Wars Winter 2017 Rumored Sets

LEGO Star Wars Rogue One

A few weeks ago, LEGO officially revealed the lineup for the LEGO Star Wars: Rogue One sets that will be released on Force Friday, September 30. As you may have noticed from the Buildable Figures sets, there are still some main characters that haven’t been featured yet. There’s now a report from CM4Sci on Eurobricks of the names of the Buildable Figures that coming next year:

Shore Trooper (75523)
Chirrut Imwe (75524)
Baze Malbus (75525)

He has also mentioned some more Microfighters which will be Rogue One related including the U-Wing, Krennic’s Shuttle, TIE Striker, and an iconic Star Wars ship. Also, the last of the system sets is rumored to be some sort of bunker battle and another iconic Star Wars ship.

You can probably start guessing what ships that are implied to be iconic but the the list isn’t very long if you’ve seen the movies.

Update: CM4Sci has stated that the iconic ship is the Y-Wing.

LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures Coming to Blu-Ray and DVD

LEGO Star Wars The Freemaker Adventures

StarWars.com has announced that the recently ended first season of LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures will be coming to Blu-Ray and DVD on December 6. The 2-disc sets will include all 13 episodes of season one as well as bonus features including:

“The Freemaker Adventures: Meet the Freemaker Family,” a fun collection of clips, behind-the-scenes footage, and cast interviews, and “Freemaker Salvage and Repair,” where you’ll visit the salvage shop as Rowan, Kordi, and Zander take you on a tour of the family business.

While home versions of LEGO media usually come with exclusive minifigures, the LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures – Complete Season One, will not have any but will include six exclusive magnets.

Also if you haven’t checked it out yet, I’ve done reviews on both LEGO sets that have been released for the show including the Eclipse Fighter (75145) and the StarScavenger (75147).

LEGO Star Wars First Order General (5004406) Coming as a Toys R Us Promotion in September?

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens First Order General (5004406)

Way back in May, I reported that the LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens First Order General (5004406) was listed on Toys R Us’ website. It’s been available at LEGOLAND parks as well as being given out with purchases at San Diego Comic Con but there hasn’t been much info since then on how the majority of the country can get it besides from the secondary market.

Jason over at BrickVibe sent over an image of the Toys R Us October 2016 LEGO calendar and shown on the last week of September, there’s a promotion for a free LEGO Star Wars gift with a $30 LEGO Star Wars purchase. My guess is that the gift could possibly be the First Order General minifigure polybag. I’ll try to confirm whether or not this is correct when I’m able to check Toys R Us’ inventory when I go back to work.

LEGO Star Wars StarScavenger (75147) Review

LEGO Star Wars StarScavenger (75147)

With my second review of the LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures sets sent over by LEGO, I have the larger of the two sets with the StarScavenger (75147). I’ve already reviewed the Eclipse Fighter (75145) a few days ago. It consists of 558 pieces and retails for $49.99. Like with the other set, this is a pretty good price to piece ratio which rarely happens with licensed sets. The contents of the box include five numbered sets, the instruction booket, and a small sticker sheet. I think my set had an error because I got two sticker sheets.

**WARNING: If you haven’t watched LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures, I suggest watching it over on Disney XD as it does have an interesting original storyline which is set between Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. There will be some minor spoilers in the reviews.**
