LEGO Stranger Things Upside Down Looks More Fun Than It’s Supposed To

One of my favorite shows from last year was Stranger Things and RyantheAmazing over on Reddit has recreated some scenes from the show with LEGO. Some details that it shows include Joyce’s living room, the kids playing Dungeons & Dragons, as well as a play feature that includes the Upside Down.

You can see lots of little details of the living room including the Christmas lights as well as the kids. The whole section then flips over using a Technic pin to reveal the dark Upside Down dimension. Check out the full album here.

LEGO Brand Stores to Start Carrying Store Exclusive Sets

The LEGO Batman Movie The Penguin Arctic Roller (70911)

Have you walked into a LEGO Store looking for a particular set but end up finding out that it is an exclusive set to another store? One example is The Penguin Arctic Roller (70911) which is actually a Target exclusive so you can only find that set there.

After many customer complaints, what I am hearing is that there will no longer be store exclusives and LEGO Stores will start carrying all the sets from a particular wave. This means that stores like Target, Walmart, and Toys R Us will no longer be the place to go for one set. Of course you can buy the set on Shop@Home but if you’re already at a LEGO Store, why wait for shipping on it.

There’s no word on when the change will take effect but I’m already seeing the Arkham Asylum (70912) at LEGO Stores which was previously a Toys R Us exclusive.

The LEGO Batman Movie Barnes & Noble Mini Batmobile Instructions

The LEGO Batman Movie Barnes & Noble Mini Batmobile

If you missed out on The LEGO Batman Movie Mini Batmobile building event at Barnes & Noble yesterday, a reader has kindly sent over a copy of the instructions. This Batmobile is different from the one from Toys R Us as it more resembles the Speedwagon. It doesn’t look like there are any exclusive parts used for the build so you can create your own if you have them. If you want, you can download the whole PDF here.

Thanks to Tim for the instructions.

The LEGO Batman Movie Sales on Amazon

Amazon currently has a pretty good deals for some The LEGO Batman Movie sets that are 25% off the retail price. First is The Batmobile (70905) which is at $44.96. This makes the set a good $0.08/piece ratio and you get four large wheels as well. You can take a look at my review of the set here.

The other set that has good deal is the Batcave Break-In (70909) which is at $74.96. With the sale, the set is at a great $0.07/piece with a lot of exclusive minifigures including three Batsuit variants. You can take a look at my review here.

LEGO BrickHeadz Captain Jack Sparrow (41593)

The LEGO BrickHeadz theme seems to be pretty popular among the community and one of the new sets that was revealed during the 2017 New York Toy Fair was Captain Jack Sparrow (41593) from the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales movie. The set has 109 pieces and is priced at $9.99 with a March 17 release for LEGO VIP members and April 1 for the general public. The contents of the box include two unnumbered bags, a loose 4×6 plate, and the instructions.

The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon by ck80 is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. It is a very detailed build of the vehicle and the size is the same as other LEGO Creator vehicle sets like the VW Camper Van, Beetles, and BMW Mini.

The project now joins The Blues Mobile, SEGA Classic Arcade Machines, Dungeon Master, Red Arrows Hawk, and Venetian Houses as the projects to reach the First 2017 Review Stage.

LEGO Speed Champions McLaren 720S (75880) Revealed

LEGO Speed Champions McLaren 720S (75880)

LEGO has revealed the new LEGO Speed Champions McLaren 720S (75880) over on their Facebook Page. There isn’t much information on it but it does say that it will be available in June. I’m assuming that it will be the same size and the $14.99 price point as the individual Speed Champions vehicles.

Update: DriveTribe has more images of the McLaren 720S. The set will also include a McLaren designer instead of a driver and his design office desk.
