LEGO Harry Potter Collection Coming to Playstation 4?

PlayStationLifeStyle.net is reporting that the Brazil Rating Board had a listing (now removed) for a LEGO Harry Potter Collection will be coming to PlayStation 4. The collection is reported to include both LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 as well as LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7. There was no mentioning of when the LEGO Harry Potter Collection will be released but the Harry Potter Universe has been the talk for the past few months with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play and book along with the Fantastic Beasts movie coming out soon. If the PS4 collection does come out, I wouldn’t be surprised if it also comes with some kind of exclusive LEGO minifigure or build.

The LEGO Christmas Ornaments Book Review

A few days ago, I received a new review copy of The LEGO Christmas Ornaments Book: 15 Designs to Spread Holiday Cheer by Chris McVeigh from No Starch Press. If Chris’ name sounds familiar, he’s a pretty popular builder and photographer in the LEGO community. The book contain 220 pages and retails for $19.95 and will be available at the end of September.

The LEGO Christmas Ornaments Book consists of 15 different builds ranging from simple builds like the wreath variety to more involved ones like the computer and camera. They are grouped into three categories such as Christmas Classics, Geometric Designs, and Fun Stuff which are your non-traditional holiday ornaments. The instructions are broken down in a very simple way, similar to what LEGO does with their instructions. At the beginning of each build, there’s a parts list, including the official parts ID number, to let you know which parts are need to create it and of course, you can substitute the colors to your liking. If you’re not familar with the numbers, you’re probably wondering what they are as it is not explained anywhere in the book. Words are very scarce since there really is no need for them.

One thing that I really appreciate about the instructions for this book as compared to other third-party instruction books is that the ones in this one are large and easy to see as compared to the small instructions with a number of pieces squeezed into that step.

Overall, The LEGO Christmas Ornaments Book is a … Continue

LEGO Dimensions Playstation 4 Exclusive Supergirl Minifigure Announced at Gamescom 2016

LEGO Dimensions Supergirl

Remember back in April when an image of Supergirl came out for LEGO Dimensions? Well it looks like we now have information on how to get the minifigure. Earlier today for Gamescom 2016, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment released details on how to get Supergirl for LEGO Dimensions and they have sent over assets including in-game images.

It turns out that Supergirl will be an exclusive bonus for the Playstation 4 Starter Pack (71171) starting on September 27. Obviously, this is a terrible announcement for people who already purchased the Playstation 4 Starter Pack or for those with other systems. People will most likely not be spending more money on another Starter Pack just to get the minifigure so the secondary market will definitely benefit from it. There’s no doubt that many fans will not agree to this move and hopefully we’ll be able to get Supergirl in a separate expansion pack but that probably doesn’t seem likely. You can now pre-order the LEGO Dimensions PS4 Starter Pack with the Supergirl minifigure over on Amazon and it will be released the same day that the Year 2, Wave 6 expansion packs are available.

LEGO Island Co-Creator Wes Jenkins Needs Your Help

A few people have emailed me about this so I’m doing what I can to spread the word about it. Some of you may or may not know about Wes Jenkins but he was the Creative Director, Writer, and Designer for LEGO Island back in 1997, a game that was pretty popular and well-received and spawned more LEGO video games such as LEGO Star Wars and two more LEGO Island sequels.

To cut it short, Wes has been hit with illness and financial hardship and needs help as he and his wife are facing eviction and needs some temporary housing. They are currently residing in Texas but if you’ve been to Texas, you know that the weather can be extremely harsh, especially duing the summer. You can read more about Wes’ story over on Rock Raiders United but there is a GoFundMe page set up to raise money for Wes and his wife. Please help spread the word and any support is definitely appreciated.
