LEGO Star Wars Hoth Han Solo Minifigure Polybag (5001621) Review

LEGO Star Wars Hoth Han Solo (5001621)

Today we have a review of an item that’s been released before but could be new for people who missed it two years ago and it’s the LEGO Star Wars Hoth Han Solo (5001621) minifigure polybag. As mentioned before, this particular minifigure was available two years ago during as a May the Fourth exclusive with a LEGO Star Wars purchase of $75 or more. I guess LEGO still has a lot of these minifigures left over because they brought it back as a February 2015 promotion. If you received a 2015 LEGO Wall Calendar either in November or December, there is a coupon that allows you to get the Hoth Han Solo minifigure with any LEGO Star Wars purchase this month.

This version of Hoth Han Solo has him wearing the original brown parka. There’s not much to it but it does have some details like the rank insignia, scarf and belt. The back of the torso also continues the printing from the front. There is also a removable hood that you can replace with Han’s brown hair. The head is also double-sided with one side having printing of him wearing the face mask and goggles.

If you’re an old school Star Wars fan, you’ve probably know about the brown vs. blue controversy about which color of the parka Han was wearing in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. From what I’ve gathered, the parka was originally brown but the bluish lighting of the Echo Base made the blue version ingrained in our memories. … Continue

Custom LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Galactus Minifigure

So what happens when you play LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Video Game and you get a wild idea after finishing the game? If you played the game, you would know that Galactus is the final boss that attacks the Helicarrier. Reddit user Plaguedoc wanted a Galactus minifigure of his own so they set out to create one since no official one exists. They posted the process of how they created one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe and transformed it into minifigure form.

It all started with the LEGO Monster Fighters Mummy Alarm Clock (9007231) and it was completely gutted and sanded down. After that it was repainted in Galactus’ usual colors. The helmet was created out of PVC couplers and the horns from plexiglass. After that, decals were created to complete the look of the Devourer of Worlds. Plaguedoc was also kind enough to post the templates for the decals and helmet if you want to create one yourself. If you want one, they are also taking requests over on the Reddit thread so you can probably work out a deal if you want. Check out the images of the process and more pictures of the final product in their Imgur album.

Medieval Market Street Achieves 10,000 Supporters on LEGO Ideas

The Medieval Market Street project by AlexP is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The project features a very detailed market along with some medieval houses which are all three stories high and have different styles and advanced building techniques. Some of the buildings include a blacksmith, pub, stables, and a Sheriff’s residence. The market itself is filled with little stands that are selling various food items. You can check out more images and the backstory of the Town of Lev over on AlexP’s MOCpages. The project would go great with the LEGO Castle Medieval Market Village (10193) from 2008 but it actually looks a bit cooler than the official one.

The Medieval Market Street joins The Discworld and Science Adventures as the projects so far to qualify for the First 2015 Review Stage.
