**Update: The exclusive LEGO minifigures that will be given away have been revealed.**

In the dreaded Hall H, Warner Bros will be talking about a couple of their upcoming movies including The LEGO Movie. There might even be some exclusive new footage of the movie that will be revealed to attendees of the panel.

In Room 6A at 12:30pm, there will be a panel that will showcase some of the upcoming Marvel video games including the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes video game coming out in October. Again, we might get to see some new footage of the game and there will be some special guests during the panel.

Finally in Room 23ABC at 5pm, BrickJournal is back once again to discuss how different artists are using LEGO bricks to create art. … Continue

LEGO The Lord of the Rings The Tower of Orthanc (10237) Review

For a while now, there were rumors that LEGO might be releasing The Tower of Orthanc (10237) for the LEGO Lord of the Rings theme and in January, there was a blurry image of what appeared to be the tower in Isengard. In April, LEGO revealed there was indeed a set coming out based on the structure from the Lord of the Rings movies. The set contains 2359 pieces and retails for $199.99, a $0.08/piece ratio. The box includes 18 numbered bags that go from 1-15, 3 cardboarded instruction booklets, and a sticker sheet.

The World of Chima Now Open at LEGOLAND Florida

Back in March, we reported that LEGOLAND Florida was expanding to add a new area to the theme park called the World of Chima. Today is the grand opening of the World of Chima at LEGOLAND Florida and there are plenty of new things to experience there. This was the first major expansion at LEGOLAND Florida and there are some new rides and attractions that visitors can see and do.

The main attraction is the water ride called the Quest of CHI. It is an interactive splash battle ride where you ride through the world of Chima. There’s also a water play area called Cragger’s Swamp and is mainly for parents with small children. For the older kids, there is an attraction called the Speedorz Arena and participants are able to build and compete using Speedorz sets. Finally, there is a LEGO Chima 4D Movie Experience which visitors can watch an interactive show about the Legends of Chima. There will also be LEGOLAND employees dressed as Laval and Cragger for you to take pictures with. Check out the videos of the opening ceremonies as well as the Quest of CHI ride.

Christina Stephens’ LEGO Prosthetic Leg

The video of Christina Stephens using LEGO bricks to make a prosthetic leg has been making the rounds on the internet and now has gone viral. Christina is a practicing occupational therapist and clinical researcher and someone in her lab suggested that she make a prosthetic leg out of LEGO bricks and that’s exactly what she did. This shows that LEGO is more than just a child’s toy and with some creativity and imagination, you can build anything to your heart’s content. LEGO Technic 41999 4x4 Crawler Exclusive Edition

Flickr user Ryan Smith, aka The Scooter Guy, has posted images of the new LEGO Technic 4×4 Crawler Exclusive Edition (41999). The images are originally from Egor Karshiev (rm8) who was the winner of the “You Design It, We Make It” Co-Creation Technic Challenge from a few months back. Egor went to Denmark for vacation and got to see the set being produced. As the winner, he has received the very first copy of the set off the production line and has done a very in-depth review of the 4×4 Crawler. I highly recommend you read it to see all the little details about the set.

The set contains 1585 pieces and retails for $199.99. It will be available for pre-order at Shop@Home on August 1st. There will only be 20,000 sets being produced. After reading Egor’s review and seeing images of it, will you be picking up the Crawler as well?
