The End also has a boss mob called the Ender Dragon which was first seen in LEGO form in the LEGO Minecraft Holiday Card.

CM4S on Eurobricks has found out the set numbers of some the new 2014 LEGO Marvel sets in Brickset’s database. They are only listed as Marvel and X-Men as placeholders. There are no further details but at least we have set numbers.

Marvel 1 (76019)
Marvel 1 (76020)
Marvel 1 (76021)
X-Men 1 (76022)

CM4S has also found out there will be a couple of DC Universe/Comics DUPLO sets as well. This is new because there was no mentioning of DC DUPLO sets until now. LEGO CUUSOO BTTF – UCS DeLorean Time Machine Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The BTTF – UCS DeLorean Time Machine is the the latest project to hit 10,000 supporters on LEGO CUUSOO. The project was getting very close to the Winter Review deadline but it garnered enough supporters with only 8 minutes to spare. This is Team BTTF’s second project to get the required supporters for it to have a chance to become an official LEGO set with the first one being the first being the regular The DeLorean Time Machine (21103). This version of the DeLorean was build by Legohaulic and is fit with the RC Function system (see below). Although it won’t get 88 mph, it’ll still be pretty fun to have if it becomes an official set.

The UCS DeLorean now joins the Macross VF-1 Valkyrie, Sherlock, Legend of Zelda Iron Knuckle Encounter, Japanese Old Style Architecture, and The Adventure Time Project in the Winter Review Stage. Congratulations again to Team BTTF for this achievement!

Congratulations on 10,000 supporters!

2014.01.06

Congratulations, m.togami and Legohaulic, for reaching 10,000 supporters just in the nick of time for the Winter 2014 LEGO Review deadline!

We now officially advance this project to the Review phase.

What happens now?
This project moves from the Idea stage to the Review stage. A “LEGO Review Board” composed of designers, product managers, and other key team members will examine the idea. We’ll build concept models and determine if the concept meets our high standards for what it takes to be a LEGO product. This includes factors such as playability,

LEGO Ice Planet 2002 Ice Tunnelator (6814) Review

LEGO Ice Planet 2002 Ice Tunnelator (6814)

Continuing with our series of our review of the LEGO Space sets, we have the second part of the series, the Ice Planet 2002 Ice Tunnelator (6184). The set contains 25 pieces and retailed for $2.99 back in 1993.

Minifigure

The minifigure included in the set is called the Ice Planet Astronaut. His torso has some printing of what looks to be a breathing apparatus which goes back to the white air tank piece attached to his back. He has the standard minifigure face printing but with some white hair printing as well. The Astronaut wears a white helmet with a trans-orange visor with antenna. His accessories include a chainsaw and a pair of trans-orange skis.

Build

The Ice Tunnelator is a small vehicle with the chainsaw attached to the front. The seat is a 2×3 white bracket which is on a blue 2×6 plate. The skis are able to attach to the back of the seat. The Tunnelator rolls on some large white wheels.

Results

Overall, the Ice Tunnelator is a neat set. It’s very simple but it works. I really liked the blue/white/orange color scheme of the Ice Planet 2002 sets and I wished I picked up more sets when I was a kid.

LEGO The Simpsons House (71006) Revealed

LEGO The Simpsons House (71006)

Carlos S on Eurobricks has just revealed the official box for the LEGO The Simpsons House (71006). The set contains 2523 pieces and it opens up to reveal the inside of the house. There are 6 minifigures including: Bart, Homer, Marge, Maggie, Lisa, and Ned Flanders. The set will also have the family’s pink sedan. Bart will have a skateboard and a ramp. Ned will be manning the barbeque and hence the “Hail to the Chef” apron as we reported before.

My initial impressions are that the house looks great with it’s many details and the fact that it opens up. The minifigures, however, leaves much to be desired. The set will no doubt be fairly expensive considering that it is a licensed set and consisting over 2500 pieces. What are your thoughts on it now that you’ve seen an image of the whole product?

Update: Carlos S has now provided an image of the interior of The Simpsons House. It looks like there are eight different rooms including the living room, kitchen, den, Homer and Marge’s room, Bart’s room, Lisa’s room, Maggie’s room, and a hallway.

Update 2: The Simpsons House is officially revealed.
