A few days ago, Walmart was selling the LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 bundled with a $50 eGift Card. They have now bumped up the eGift card to $75! The price of the EV3 from Walmart is $349.95 with free shipping. The latest MINDSTORMS set makes a great gift for Christmas plus you get $75 to spend on what ever you want so in turn, you get the EV3 for $274.95, a 21.4% savings. Hurry and get it before stocks run out!

Every year, employees of The LEGO Group are given a gift in the form of a LEGO set for their hard work. This year is no different. Brickset has posted images of what employees will be getting this year, A LEGO Christmas Tale (4000013). In this 435 piece set, there are actually four small models that you can build. There is Santa’s Workshop with two elves, Santa’s sleigh with reindeer, a snowman in the middle of trees, and a Christmas fireplace scene. Overall, it’s a pretty cute set that LEGO employees will be getting and no doubt that many collectors will be wanting to get their hands on as well.

A few days ago, Alice Finch announced that she has joined the BrickLink Team as their Chief Communications Officer. Her new duties are to be the voice of the users on the site and is there to help assist people with the questions that they have. Alice will also be working alongside a team that will manage any issues that come up as well as managing the volunteers of the BrickLink. In addition, she will be working on some future releases of BrickLink and the team is eyeing Spring 2014 to have a rebuilt site. As you may or may not know, BrickLink was sold earlier this year to Jung-Ju “Jay” Kim who is also the founder of gaming company Nexon. Jay is also an AFOL and has vowed to revamp the current site.
One of BrickLink 2.0’s focus is not to be a marketplace for buying and selling LEGO items but to also be a community. Currently, the site does have a forum but it is very outdated and needs an overhaul so the changes will able to make it a closer knit community. Alice notes the new updates will allow people to not only display their MOCs but to sell them as well.
Alice has done an interview with Beyond the Brick and she goes in-depth on more things they are work on at BrickLink. She also talks about many of her builds including her Hogwarts Castle. She has also posted images of her newest creation, the Quiddich Pitch. If you have some … Continue

I don’t do much MOCs on the site but there are some that really catch my eye. One such MOC is Stormbringer’s Attack on Titan diorama. Attack on Titan aka Shingeki no Kyojin is one of my all-time favorite anime shows and seeing Stormbringer’s model makes me want the show to return quicker for the second season.
The display shows a variety of Titans already inside the Walls and attacking the district including a large Titan hand on the right side. The walls of the buildings and the ground are very nicely textured and gives you the feel of the district. You also see a couple members of the Survey Corps as well as a couple of unfortunate souls. Great job Stormbring! Now I’m off to rewatch the episodes.
