LEGO CON 2021 Officially Announced for June 26

That teaser that LEGO did last week which we though was going to be some new product turns out to be a new event LEGO is hosting called LEGO CON. It is a two hour live event that looks like LEGO’s own toy fair since there’s no Comic Con this year in which there will be official set reveals, special guests, live builds, and Q&As with LEGO designers. It will be live on LEGO.com/legocon at 9am PST on June 26.

New LEGO Star Wars, Marvel, DC Sets Revealed for August Release

A Mexican Certified LEGO Retailer has revealed some new LEGO sets that we haven’t seen before from Star Wars, Marvel, and DC. First is the LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Meditation Chamber (75296) which is another 18+ set. Next is the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Infinity Saga Sanctuary II: Endgame Battle (76237). Lastly is the LEGO DC Batman Classic TV Series Cowl (76238) which is another 18+ set. They are listed as an August release.

LEGO Ideas The Tavern Under the Snow Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Tavern Under the Snow by Lego_Is_Art is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The 2,600 piece build is centered around a tavern that has opening walls to reveal a kitchen, storeroom, and part of the house.

The project now joins Imperial Island Fort, Movie Set, Lifeguard’s Shack, A-Frame Cabin, Spaceballs, The Costume Store, Boston Dynamics Spot 1:4 Scale Motorized Model, and Medival Tavern as the ones to reach the Second 2021 Review Stage.

New June 2021 LEGO Sets Now Available on LEGO Shop

Here in the US, there are a number of summer 2021 LEGO sets that are now available for purchase on the LEGO Shop. Although it’s not all of the summer 2021 sets like with the rest of the world, there are a still quite a few of them from various themes. Also on the list is the Everyone is Awesome (40516) set which was the single most popular post ever on our social channels.

As far as promotions are concerned, there is the LEGO FRIENDS Mug (5006068) with a purchase of the LEGO Ideas Central Perk (21319). This promo will run from June 1-13. The LEGO Ninjago 10th Anniversary BrickHeadz (40490) is available in stores for $10 when you make a $85 LEGO Ninjago purchase. If you’re not a LEGO VIP member yet, you can sign up and get a free blue LEGO minifigure keychain (854090).

LEGO Ideas Seaside Gift with Purchase Set Winner Announced

LEGO has announced the winner of the LEGO Ideas Seaside contest in which the winning build will become the next gift-with-purchase set and the title of Fan Designer. The winner with 969 votes is Ray the Castaway by DadiTwins (shown above) and it was a runaway choice from fans as it had over 400 votes over the next runner up build. There’s no word on when it will be released as a GWP but it’ll be probably at least a year if you compare it to previous GWP building contests.

LEGO Ninjago 10th Anniversary BrickHeadz (40490) to be Sold in July

The LEGO Ninjago 10th Anniversary BrickHeadz (40490) promotion for June came with some controversy as it is a purchase-with-purchase promotion but there are some more details about it coming from the LEGO Ambassador Network. As of now you can get it for $10 with purchases of $85 in Ninjago products, in-store only but if you want to do that, there’s another chance to get it starting in July. Whatever remaining stock there is left over from June in stores will be sold at full price starting on July 1 worldwide at LEGO Brand Retail, Certified Stores, Merlin and on the LEGO Shop.

This is actually a decent follow up for those who don’t want to buy any Ninjago in June since there’s nothing new and you’ll end up with duplicates. I’m going to guess there will be plenty of stock in July for people who want to buy it for $29.99. Again, it seems that LEGO is listening to feedback and all the negative reactions when the July 2021 Store Calendar was posted and have adjusted accordingly.

I have been told from the Shop Team that the 40490 set will only be available as a promo during the month of June. Then remaining stock will be opened up for purchase at full price after July 1st. Once available for purchase it is planned to be available at LBR, LCS, Merlin, LEGO.com.

adidas UltraBOOST DNA x LEGO Plates Shoes Color Pack Coming Soon

Following the release of the adidas UltraBOOST DNA x LEGO Plates shoes back in April, there will be a new Color Pack with some new colorways coming soon. According to Sneaker Bar Detroit, there will be four more shoes in Black/Yellow, White/Blue, White/Red, and Black/Green. Each of them will retail for $200 when they release in the near future.
