LEGO DC Collectible Minifigures Rumored for 2020?

Here’s a new juicy 2020 LEGO rumor that could be the start of something special further down the line. As we know by now, LEGO has done some licensed Collectible Minifigures series including Harry Potter and a couple waves of The Simpsons, The LEGO Batman Movie, and Disney and it looks like a new licensed theme could be joining the fray next year. According to Brick Fanatics, we could be getting a LEGO DC Collectible Minifigures series at the beginning of the year. Obviously there are tons of characters to choose from but we’ll probably also see the usual cast of DC originals like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman in new variant outfits.

This isn’t the first time I’ve heard of this rumor but BF has some good sources so I’m going to roll with it, however, treat this as a rumor until LEGO teases something or they announce it on social media. If LEGO does release a DC series, could we also see a Marvel Collectible Minifigures series as well? Thanks to Shrek for the heads up even though it probably isn’t your real name.

Rumored List of Retiring LEGO Star Wars Sets – 2019

Here’s something that was pretty interesting that came though my email during the weekend regarding some rumored retiring LEGO Star Wars sets. The folks at Rebelscum has reported on a rumored list of some current LEGO Star Wars products that will be retiring within the next year.

LEGO does have their own Retiring Soon page but it isn’t frequently updated until items have already been retired. It’s pretty much a guessing game of when something will be retiring since LEGO doesn’t officially announce it. The rule of thumb is sets have roughly about a two year shelf life while UCS sets have a slightly longer one depending on how popular it is.

I’m not saying this is a definitive list but Rebelscum is a trustworthy source and they wouldn’t report on something unless they are confident about it.

The LEGO Movie 2 Sets Retiring Soon?

Here’s an interesting article about The LEGO Movie 2 sets that came through my email this morning. Online retailer ToyPro has posted that TLM2 sets could be retiring sooner than expected. As they are a retailer, they are able to order directly from LEGO and they asked there is something going on with the sets and LEGO responded with, “The movie sets will not come back as far as I know now due to disappointing resale.”

If you’ve been on LEGO Shop@Home and on Amazon, you would have noticed that a majority of The LEGO Movie 2 sets have been on sale for a few months now. Even the D2C Welcome to Apocalypseburg! (70840) has been discounted on Amazon. If you saw the post about the first half 2019 financial results, TLM2 didn’t even crack the top five selling themes on the list. Sets usually don’t go on sale on Shop@Home unless they are retiring soon so this could be an indication that they may be gone by the beginning of the year.

Thanks to Edon for the heads up.

LEGO Classic Space Galaxy Explorers Geeky Jerseys Back in Stock

Almost five years ago, I reported on some cool apparel that LEGO Classic Space fans may enjoy and it has been so popular that it has been in and out of stock for a long time. Over on Geeky Jerseys, they have the Explorer jersey available again which features the Classic Space logo across the front and the Galaxy Explorer patch on the back. The arms also has some space patches on it as well.

The jersey goes for $99.00 which is around the same price that the mid-to-higher end hockey jerseys go for. You can customize the name on the back as well as whatever number you choose. Keep in mind the jersey are custom made and they are limited time so get it before it’s gone again.

This is not a paid sponsorship. I think it’s just cool.
