LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Next-Gen Video Game Details

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Video Game Box Art

Digital Spy is reporting that the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes video game that will be coming out for the next generation systems will have absolutely no loading time, says TT Games Game Director Arthur Parsons. That’s right you future Playstation 4 and Xbox One owners, you will be able to play the game from one scene to the other without waiting. The reason is because the game will be reading off the hard drive and not the disc itself. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will also be running at a full 1080dp which means crystal clear, smooth gameplay.

For those who are deciding to get the game on the next-gen systems, unfortunately you won’t be getting the Iron Patriot bonus minifigure. For those who are getting it on the PS3, Xbox 360, and the Wii U, there’s still time to pre-order from Walmart and get the bonus minifig. The game is set to be released in October for current generation systems and by the end of the year for the next-gen systems.

LEGO Winter Village Market (10235) Available For LEGO VIPs on Sept 16

LEGO Creator Expert Winter Village Market (10235)

GRogall on Eurobricks has reported that the LEGO Creator Expert Winter Village Market (10235) will be available early for LEGO VIP members on September 16th. The official release date of the set is October 1st but VIP members are allowed to purchase it early much like other LEGO exclusive sets. Now here’s the catch. If you purchase the set in September, you can get the FREE exclusive Mini Volkswagen T1 Camper Van (40079) with your purchase or you could wait until October when LEGO usually has the double VIP points promotion going on. The double VIP points isn’t confirmed for October yet for this year but LEGO has had the promotion in that month the past couple of years so it’s safe to assume that they will have it this year as well.

Update: The Winter Village Market is now available for purchase for LEGO VIP members.

More 2014 LEGO Sets Revealed

LEGO Creator Quad Bike (31022)

Today has been a fairly decent day as far as various sources revealing more 2014 LEGO sets. First off is a user by the name of TAFOL on Eurobricks of another LEGO Creator set that was found on back of the instructions book for the Race Car (31017). As you can see from the image above, it is a yellow Quad Bike (31022). The set is a 3-in-1 set so you can also build a Race Car and a Monster Truck. Also, another word for the Race Car (31017) and the Monkey and Toucan (31019) sets. On the same Eurobricks thread, ljames28 has posted the instructions for those sets and notes that the instructions were only from partial booklets so that may suggest that those sets are also 3-in-1 sets.

Over on Brick Owl, they are reporting that there will a new set based on a MINI Cooper that will be released sometime this year. BMW owns the MINI Cooper line and the company already has a licensing agreement with The LEGO Group. There’s no word if it will be a regular sized set or a polybag like the BMW (40200). Nothing official has been announced yet but there’s still a couple more LEGO conventions left in the year as well as New York Comic Con if LEGO decides to reveal them there.

Another thing that was revealed by Brick Owl was a couple more LEGO Architecture sets that will be available later this year and early next year. One is the Marina Bay Continue

LEGO The Lord of the Rings The Council of Elrond (79006) Review

One iconic scene in The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring takes place at the home of the Elves at Rivendell. The Council of Elrond (79006) set recreates the scene in the movie where the Council discusses what to do with the One Ring. The scene also is the origin of one of the best memes created. This set contains 243 pieces and retails for $29.99 which comes out to about $0.12/piece. The box contains two numbered bags, one instruction booklet, and one small sticker sheet.

LEGO Minifigures MMO Countdown

LEGO Minifigures MMO Countdown

Last year, we reported that LEGO has teamed up with Norwegian game developer, Funcom to create a new massive multiplayer online game that will be based on the LEGO Collectible Minifigures line. Funcom has a countdown going for the LEGO Minifigures on their page and in 12 days, they will be releasing more details of the game. You can subscribe to their email list and be notified when more information is available.

LEGO Minifigures will be the second MMO game that LEGO releases with the first being the popular but failed LEGO Universe MMO and will be available for PC and Mac sometime in 2014. Players will be able to use a wide range of minifigures from the Collectible Minifigures line and each character will have their own set of abilities. Players take part in quests and PvP battles to unlock power bricks to increase their minifigure’s abilities. Looking at some of the screenshots below, the game looks like it will bring back some of LEGO Universe. In addition to playing on PCs, the game will have the ability to tie-in with mobile devices including Android, iOS, and Windows Mobile. We’ll do another post when details emerge from Funcom in a few weeks.

Update: Details have been revealed.

Jurassic Park Jungle Explorer T-Rex Encounter on LEGO CUUSOO

Anyone who knows me personally knows that Jurassic Park is my all-time favorite movie. When I saw it when I was 11 years old, I was amazed on how real the dinosaurs looked. After watching the movie at least 50 times, yes 50, throughout my life, I still can’t get enough of it. I’m at the point where I know the dialogue and know what each character is going to say.

Last week, the BrickQueen has posted a Jurassic Park project on LEGO CUUSOO, the Jungle Explorer T-Rex Encounter. The project features the Jungle Explorer SUV, Dr. Alan Grant, Dr. Ian Malcolm, Lex Murphy, and Tim Murphy minifigures, and the T-Rex.

The Jungle Explorer is based on a Ford Explorer XLT and has a removing glass on the top of the roof to get the “shattering” glass feature when the T-Rex attacked the vehicle. The SUV will be able to seats all four minifigures and has the utility box in the back that stores a flare and a flashlight. There were also night goggles in the movie but it’s not included at this time. They may be added later in a future update.

Another part of the project includes the fence part of the Tyrannosaur Paddock where the Rex breaks through the 10,000 volt electrified fence while the power was out. It even has the decal for the voltage sign and the warning lights.

Overall, I really like the design of the project by the BrickQueen. I’ve already put in my support and hopefully many … Continue
