Earlier today, Mark Warburton from TT Games shared some images of the Sonic the Hedgehog minifigure that will coming out for year two of LEGO Dimensions. As we know by know Sonic the Hedgehog will be one of the new licensed properties that will be coming to the popular toys-to-life genre along with a slew of other characters.
As you can see, the Sonic LEGO minifigure is pretty true to the character with the new molded head piece. He is also shown holding a life preserver piece instead of the One Ring piece as shown at the end of the trailer but this could be just a placeholder. We’ll have to wait and see when the images of the expansion pack are released.
Thanks to everyone who emailed this in from NeoGAF while I was at work.

Interactive Entertainment officially announced their lineup for Series 2 of LEGO Dimensions which includes new IPs such as Sonic The Hedgehog, Adventure Time, The A-Team, Mission Impossible, E.T., The Goonies, Knight Rider, The Powerpuff Girls, Gremlins, Beetlejuice, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and the new Ghostbusters team.
LEGO Ideas Third 2015 Review Winners Announced – The Third 2015 Results for LEGO Ideas were announced and the Beatles Yellow Submarine and the Apollo 11 Saturn V will become official LEGO Ideas sets in the near future.
LEGO has announced that they will be continuing the LEGO Super Heroes Mighty Micros line in 2017 and today they have shown off a sneak peek at some of the sets that will be coming next year.
The first set, shown above, is Superman vs. Bizarro (76068). This is the first time that the Bizarro minifigure has been in a widely available set and not the San Diego Comic Con exclusive.
Next is Wonder Woman vs. Doomsday (76070) in which Wonder Woman gets an Invisible Plane Mighty Micro made up of lots of clear pieces. Also Doomsday now becomes an official minifigure although he is the chibi version.
Last up is Batman vs. Killer Moth (76069). This version of Batman is the chibi version of the Adam West classic Batman which includes the retro Batcopter.
LEGO has hashtagged their post with #SDCC so we can probably expect to see these in person at San Diego Comic Con next month.
Brickworld Chicago 2016 is over but one of the more spectacular things to see is the traditional “World of Lights” event that takes place. If you’re not familiar with World of Lights, it takes place after the public is gone and the lights are turned off. The only source of light are from the builds that have lights included.
The Brick Show has taken photos and video of some of this year’s builds for BrickWorld Chicago which you can check out below.
LEGO will be releasing another retro-type set that pays homage to some of the original LEGO themes and for this year, it will be the Classic Knights (5004419) set. There are now official images of the set from Brick Merge which shows some closer details of the Classic Knights set.
Like with the 2014 Classic Spaceman Minifigure (5002812) and the 2015 Classic Pirates Minifigure (5003082) sets, the Classic Knights (5004419) set will contain a minifigure from a particular theme and in this case, a Crusader Knight from the LEGO Castle theme. The build itself is a small ballista that is very similar to the 1986 Siege Cart (6012) but with updated parts. There’s also a small booklet showing off some of the various knights that LEGO has released throughout the years.
The Classic Knights (5004419) set will be available starting June 30-July 10 with purchases of $50 or more at LEGO Brand Stores and on SHop@Home.
San Diego Comic Con 2016 is just around the corner and speculation has been going on about which LEGO minifigures will be given away this year. Earlier today, Sir Gareth over on Eurobricks has revealed that they are Captain America (Steve Rogers) for Marvel and the Atom for DC.
This version of Captain America is the recently controversial Hydra agent version of the character. As for the Atom, it will be from Ray Palmer from the CW’s Arrow/Flash series and the Legends of Tomorrow series. This will be the third character featured from the Arrowverse as the Green Arrow was given away back in 2013 and Arsenal from last year.
Of course, none of this is confirmed yet until they are revealed, hopefully soon, as exclusives from other companies have already been announced. Stay tuned as more details for LEGO in SDCC 2016 are released.
