In the only X-Men set of the 2012 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes so far, we get Wolverine’s Chopper Showdown (6866). This contains 201 pieces and retails for $19.99, which comes out to about $0.10/piece. The set includes three unnumbered bags, one instruction booklet, and the first comic book in the Super Heroes series. Once thing that stands out when looking at the box is the mountain and forest. I’m assuming the setting is in Canada where Wolverine resides.
Continuing the theme of the LEGO DC Universe Super Heroes sets, this time we get the Catwoman Catcycle City Chase (6858). This is the smallest of the DC Universe themed sets coming in at 89 pieces and retails for $12.99. That’s $0.15/piece which is not that good considering what you get in the set and only has two minifigures.
If you’ve been trying to get last year’s LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar on sale, now is your chance! Toys ‘R’ Us is trying to get rid of their stock and is having a sale for $19.99 which is half off the original price. Now you can get the Santa Yoda you’ve been wanting but couldn’t get in addition of some cool miniature sets.
On April 1, I went back to LEGOLAND California for the first time in about seven years or so. Why did I decide to go? Because of Star Wars Days! This year, Star Wars Days happened on March 31 – April 1, a little earlier than before. Usually the event happens later on the in year. I was excited to go because I’ve never been to Star Wars Days and I wanted to experience it first-hand.
On March 29, 2012, LEGOLAND California is set for the highly anticipated LEGO Star Wars Miniland expansion. There will be scenes built in 1:20 scale from 1.5 million bricks for all six Star Wars movies as well as the Clone Wars animated series.
One of the new models that will be displayed is the Opee Sea Killer. The video below shows Gary McIntire, the Master Model Builder at LEGOLAND California setting up the model for the new expansion.
Another model that was created for the expansion is the Sandcrawler which is for Episode IV where the Jawas are selling the droids. Also seen in this video are 3 foot tall minifigures of Luke Skywalker, Wicket, Boba Fett, Princess Leia, Anakin Skywalker, and Darth Maul just to name a few.

I’m hoping to be there on March 31 and our friends at From Bricks To Bothans will be there as well. I’m looking forward to taking a lot of pictures and will be posting them to my Flickr as soon as I get back. It’ll be my first Star Wars Days so I’m definitely excited. Hope to see you there!
In 2009, there was a contest in conjunction with Toys ‘R’ Us for the Fan’s Choice Set. The Home One Mon Calamari came out the winner of the competition. The set was released in August 2009 and retails for $109.99. There are 789 pieces which is at $0.14 per piece. The pieces are distributed in 12 bags which is about 4 bags per section of the set. The Home One Mon Calamari is a Toys ‘R’ Us exclusive although you can find it on Amazon or eBay. It is also part of the LEGO Star Wars 10 year anniversary sets.
One of the most memorable ships in the Star Wars Universe is the Slave I and in July 2010, LEGO released set 8097 for all the collectors. The Slave I set celebrates the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. It contains 573 pieces and includes three minifigures. The set retails for $79.99 which is around $0.14/piece.
