LEGO Star Wars 2014 Advent Calendar (75056) – Day 1

It’s December and that means we’ll be doing our annual LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar (75056) reveals. I’ve had this set since August or September but now we can crack this bad boy open. I know there’s some people/sites who complain that the Advent Calendars are boring but there are more people who enjoy seeing them so these upcoming posts are for them. We’ll be doing the reveals later in the day so people can open theirs too before we spoil the surprise inside.

The LEGO Star Wars 2014 Advent Calendar consists of 274 pieces and retails for $39.99. They’ve been sold out for a while now but you may get lucky and find it at retail price at some retailers.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer Recreated in LEGO

The official trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens came out yesterday and it didn’t take long for people to make stop-motion videos out of LEGO for it. There is actually two videos that have been made so far. The first one is from FinalFeature who took them 22 hours of work to create their stop-motion. It took them 3 hours to build the landscapes and vehicles, 4 hours to shoot 1500 frames at 30fps, and 15 hours of post production. The final product is pretty awesome and smooth at the same time. Check it out below.

The other LEGO stop-motion for Star Wars: The Force Awakens is from Snooperking. Although it isn’t as flashy as the previous video, it’s still good consider all you have to do to do a stop-motion video.

First Image of LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded

Rebels Report has tweeted out the first image of the new LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded. They also note that the book will include the Star Wars Rebels characters along with all the minifigures that have been released since the previous book in 2011. There will be 72 additional pages in the newest Character Encyclopedia which bumps the page count to 280. The book will be released on May 5, 2015 but you can pre-order now on Amazon. Now to speculate on who the new exclusive minifigure will be included.

Amazon has a pretty good deal for the fairly new LEGO Star Wars AT-AT (75054) for $89.91 which is more than $20 (18%) off the retail price of $109.99. The set is also eligible for free shipping with Amazon Prime. Christmas is coming real soon so this is a great set to get early at a very nice price as you probably won’t it this low again for a while when the deal expires.

The Next LEGO Star Wars UCS Set is a TIE…

The rumor mill has started up as we start to speculate what exclusive sets could be coming out in 2015. Earlier, we reported that the LEGO The Simpsons line would be getting another set.

Cavegod over on Eurobricks is reporting that we would be seeing a new LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Series set. The only thing that they mentioned was a UCS TIE. Since there are many different TIE variants such as the Advanced, Interceptor, Bomber, etc., it’s hard to guess which version it is.

My sources are telling me that the next LEGO Star Wars UCS set would be the TIE/LN Starfighter aka the TIE Fighter. I was also told that it would be priced around $199.99 and would be released during the May the 4th event. If this is true, it’ll be joining the TIE Interceptor (7181) from 2000 and Vader’s TIE Advanced (10175) from 2006 as the TIE variants in the LEGO Star Wars universe.

We’ll see in a few months whether it is indeed be the UCS TIE Fighter or another TIE aircraft.

LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded To Be Released Next Year

Back in 2011, DK Publishing released the LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia which detailed more than 300 minifigures in the Star Wars Universe and also included the exclusive Yavin Han Solo minifigure.

During Star Wars Day 2015, specifically on May 5, 2015, DK will be releasing the LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded version. This book will probably be including details of all the new LEGO Star Wars minifigures that have been released since the first book was released a few years ago. It will have 280 pages and retail for $18.99 and will most likely include an exclusive minifigure as well. There’s no word yet on who it could be, if there is one, but leave your comments below on who you want to be the minifigure.

Rest of LEGO Star Wars 2015 Sets Images Now Available

LEGO Star Wars ARC-170 Starfighter (75072)

Imperium der Steine has provided images of the last three sets for the LEGO Star Wars 2015 sets. We can now see the Microfighters ARC-170 Starfighter (75072) which includes a Clone Pilot. The Hailfire Droid (75085) has two Super Battle Droids and a Clone Trooper Lieutenant. Anakin’s Custom Jedi Starfighter (75087) is the Azure Angel from The Clone Wars animated series and includes Anakin Skywalker, a R4-P22 Astromech Droid, and Asajj Ventress.
