LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures (71012) Now Officially Available

LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures (71012)

Today is the first of May so that means the new LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures (71012)icon are officially available at LEGO Brand Stores and on Shop@Homeicon. Instead of the traditional 16 minifigures to collect, there are now 18 in this series. I’ve already done a review on them that you can check out. If you’re still looking for them, I’ve also provided a feel guide to help you out.

LEGO Dimensions Supergirl (71340) Image Found

LEGO Dimensions Supergirl (71340)

There hasn’t been much news lately about any future expansion packs for LEGO Dimensions but Huw over at Brickset has found some instructions on a new Supergirl (71340) Dimensions pack which includes a first look at the minifigure. From the looks of it, a majority of the minifigure is the same as the Supergirl we got in the Brainic Attack (76040) set except that the head and hair are new.

There’s no mentioning on how to get it but Just2Good over in the article says it will be an E3 exclusive promo in June. If this is true, hopefully she’ll be available at a later time so people who can’t attend E3 will be able to get one in an expansion pack.

The LEGO Group Owner Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen Announces His Successor

Yesterday, LEGO released a press release regarding the future of the company. It was announced that Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen and his son, Thomas Kirk Kristiansen will be switching roles on the board of directors as Thomas Kirk will be the new deputy chairman while his father becomes an ordinary member of the board.

Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen says:

“The family has for some years been making careful preparations for the future. I am very pleased to say that we are now ready to take certain important steps toward the smooth generational handover that will continue to maintain active family ownership of the LEGO Group – not just for the next generation but also for generations to come.

“As part of the preparations, we have decided that in each generation one person should be taking on the role as the most active owner. The most active owner will on behalf of the whole family be close to the LEGO Group, the LEGO Foundation and KIRKBI. We in the family have agreed that Thomas should assume this role in the fourth generation. Thomas has built up an in-depth knowledge of the companies, and he enjoys the backing of the whole family.”

You can read more on the story in the link above or if you’re subscribed to The Wall Street Journal, they did their own piece about this story.

LEGO Ideas Johnny Five Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Johnny Five project by PepaQuin is the latest one to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The build is based on the robot from the Short Circuit movies back in the 80s. It has about 300 pieces and stands at 7″ tall with various points of articulation including the torso, arms, head, and even the eyebrows. Johnny Five also features a retracting shoulder mount and moving treads.

The project barely makes it into the First 2016 Review Stage and it joins the Fossil Museum, the Gingerbread House, the Modular Train Station, the Old Fishing Store, the Jedi High Council, the Particle Accelerator, the Jurassic Park Visitor Center, and the Rolling BB-8 as the projects that qualify for review.
