Two LEGO Themed T-Shirts on TeeFury Today

LEGO TeeFury

TeeFury not only has one LEGO themed t-shirt today but two different ones you can choose from. The first one is a Masterbuilders Union shirt by nakedderby. It has a similar look to the LEGO Master Builder Academy with the red 2×2 brick. The colors of the shirts you can choose from include navy, black, and charcoal.

The other shirt is Starfighter! Starfighter! Starfighter! by Brinkerhoff. It shows a X-Wing flying past the Death Star in the classic LEGO Space logo style. The colors for this shirt are royal blue, navy, and black.

Both shirts are $11 each and will be on sale for 24 hours.

LEGO Store December 2014 Monthly Mini Build Event Gingerbread House (40105) Review

LEGO December 2014 Monthly Mini Build

Today was the last Monthly Mini Build event for 2014 and it was a highly anticipated one. For the holidays, LEGO has gone with the Gingerbread House (40105) for the December build. We finally get some needed rain here in San Diego but that didn’t deter families from waiting in line to get their set. I was surprised that many families also wanted to build the Gingerbread House in the store and didn’t mind that it was raining. Now that’s dedication!

Kids also had the opportunity to build some ornaments back at the Pick-A-Brick wall. This was Genevieve’s idea which was inspired by LEGO builder Chris McVeigh and his holiday building guides. Although I wasn’t able to take any pictures of the builds, I did see there were some pretty cool Christmas tree built.

LEGO December 2014 Monthly Mini Build

For the Gingerbread House (40105) itself, it contains 54 pieces which is the second largest Mini Build of the year next to the March Spring Tree (40096). The house has your typical Gingerbread House look with the white frosting roof and the 1×1 studs representing candy. The front of the house also has a brick-built candy cane. The only thing I thought that was off was the 2×4 yellow brick that was used instead of a brown one.

Overall, the Gingerbread House is a well made set that goes great with your Winter themed sets. The January 2015 Monthly Mini Build will be an Alien with a space dog which you can see on the January 2015 LEGO Store Calendar.… Continue

LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 13 (71008) Feel Guide

LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 13 (71008)

With an overwhelming positive response through emails and comments on our Feel Guide for the Series 12 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71007), we’re going to do another one for the upcoming Series 13 as well. since there are no physical copies yet in hand yet, we’ll just go off the images from WhiteFang’s review on Eurobricks of some of the more notable things to look for with each minifigure. We should start seeing Series 13 hitting the shelves early again in a couple of weeks at retailers such as Walgreens, Target, Walmart, and Toys R Us.

1. King
The easiest thing to feel for will probably be the crown/hair piece. The pointed greatsword is also helpful but be careful since there there are three other minifigures in this series that also have swords.

2. Sheriff
Since there are no other minifigures that have a 2×2 tile, this will be one of the easiest things to feel for along with the hat for the Sheriff.

3. Unicorn Girl
Her bulky horse headpiece is probably the best indication that you’ve found her. The tail piece is also helpful.

4. Snake Charmer
There are a number of things for the Snake Charmer that can differentiate him from the others in Series 13. The turban, stick, and cobra snake are all good things to feel for.

5. Goblin
Like the previous minifigure, the Goblin also has three things you can feel for to him him, the scimitar, bag, and headpiece with ears.

6. Paleontologist
To find the Paleontologist, her safari hat … Continue

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Advent Calendar (75056)

It’s December and that means we’ll be doing our annual LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar (75056) reveals. I’ve had this set since August or September but now we can crack this bad boy open. I know there’s some people/sites who complain that the Advent Calendars are boring but there are more people who enjoy seeing them so these upcoming posts are for them. We’ll be doing the reveals later in the day so people can open theirs too before we spoil the surprise inside.

The LEGO Star Wars 2014 Advent Calendar consists of 274 pieces and retails for $39.99. They’ve been sold out for a while now but you may get lucky and find it at retail price at some retailers.
