Jurassic Park is by far my favorite movie of all time and I was ecstatic that there will be new LEGO sets based on the upcoming Jurassic World movie. Anything that includes a combination of LEGO and Jurassic Park, I’m totally in and this brings us to this stop-motion video that I was emailed about by Paul Hollingsworth. Let’s go back to where it all began with the first Jurassic Park movie with Digitalwizardz over on YouTube where they have created one of the best LEGO animations based on the first movie that I’ve seen. This video is sort of an abridged version of the movie which includes various, yet famous quotes from Jurassic Park mixed with some LEGO humor.
The crew of the film includes Paul and his daughter and their friends as well as animation by Forrest Whaley and Sean Willets. Check out the video as well as the behind the scenes video below.

There will finally be a LEGO fan convention in Southern California this year with an event called BricksLA which was advertised a little this past weekend at Star Wars Days. BricksLA is a LEGO convention that features MOCs, vendors, and activities, pretty much what you see at other LEGO conventions across the US. The unique thing about it is that there’s finally an event that’s closer to home and another one on the west cost in addition to Bricks by the Bay and Brickcon but without the long drive/flight up.
There isn’t much information at this time but what we do know is that it will be held at the Pasadena Convention Center on May 16 & 17. Admission costs are $5 and kids under 12 get in free. There’s will be more info once we get closer to May including AFOL registration.

Ript Apparel today has a LEGO shirt available which features Taco Tuesday in LEGO font. As we all know by now, Taco Tuesday was created by President Business to give citizens of Bricksburg a free taco on that day but in fact he was going to use that day to Kraglize the universe so everyone will stop messing up his things.
The shirt will be available for 24 hours and pricing starts at $11.

Earlier today, I reported on some details of the LEGO Ideas The Big Bang Theory and WALL•E sets with info given to me by my contact. The same contact has provided the release month(s) for the LEGO Ideas Doctor Who set is rumored to be around October or November and New Zealand in January 2016. It was also stated that it was apparently delayed for some reason. Given that, the official reveal of the set probably won’t happen for a few more months.
There hasn’t been much details about the Doctor Who set except for the teaser image of a partial Peter Capaldi’s minifigure head. LEGO fans along with Whovians will have to wait a little longer for more details to be released.

LEGO vehicle builder extraordinaire Sariel has unveiled his latest creation and it is one of my favorite cars, the Audi R8. The car is only a few years old but was mostly recognized in the first Iron Man movie and is easily a very distinguishable car that makes heads turn.
Sariel created the car out of mostly orange parts and if you’re a builder, you know that there aren’t that many orange parts available. This limitation made Sariel’s build somewhat harder because some parts weren’t available at all. Even with that limitation, Sariel finally completed the Audi R8 and has also released a video showcasing the features of it which you can check out in the video below.
To make up for the downtime early this morning, I have some new information about the upcoming LEGO Ideas The Big Bang Theory and WALL•E sets. Many fans have been waiting for any kind information about them but there’s been absolutely nothing so far, until now. This information comes from the same contact who first told us that the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes The Shield Helicarrier (76042), LEGO The Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart (71016), and the LEGO Star Wars UCS TIE Fighter (75095) would be released this year.
For both of the new LEGO Ideas sets, the pricing was said to be at NZD 109.99. What this may mean is that the sets will be the most expensive LEGO Ideas sets to date and will probably be the largest in terms of piece count as well. They also told me that they will be available in New Zealand in September but we usually get the sets a little earlier so I’m thinking around the middle of summer wave sets.
Unfortunately, there is no other information that was given about the sets as well as the LEGO Ideas Doctor Who set. Of course take this information as a rumor but given the track record of our contact who has been correct many times before, I’d say they’re pretty reliable.
Update: Many people have been up in arms over my guess for the price so you can make your own guesses given the NZD that I’ve been told. I did compare pricing of similar priced sets from New Zealand … Continue
