I’ve been playing the new LEGO Marvel Super Heroes video game on Playstation 3 on and off for a few weeks now and I think it’s about time for a little review on the game. The game was developed by Traveller’s Tales in conjunction with LEGO and Marvel and retails for $49.99. I’ve completed about 80% of the game but there’s still much more to do in it. For individuals who haven’t gotten to play the game yet, viewer discretion is advised aka SPOILER ALERT!
If you’re in the Los Angeles area this weekend and have nothing to do, why not head over to DesignerCon 2013. Designer Con allows artists and designers to showcase their work to the public and a couple of our friends from the LEGO Community will be there as well including BrickNerd, FBTB, and Brandon Griffith from the STUDS Trading Cards. Tommy from BrickNerd will be selling some Do-It-Yourself prototype kits such as his Nerdlys and a couple of Mouse Droids (below). You can register online for DesignerCon for $5 here or pay $7 at the doors.
Today, the LEGO Lord of the Rings video game has been released on Apple iOS. The game is similar to the console version with the trilogy storyline and you can download the game right now on iTunes for $4.99. If you don’t feel like paying $20 for the console version, why not pay $5 and take it along with you on your mobile devices. The game requires 1.37 GB and iOS 6.0 or later and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.

If you haven’t gotten enough news for The LEGO Movie including the sets and the minifigures, there are some books by Dorling Kindersley that are being released next month. We found the books listed on BNC CataList and they are currently available for pre-order on Amazon and will be released on December 30th.

Michael Bradford has updated his LEGO Collectible Minifigures Compendium to include the minifigures from The LEGO Movie. All the new 16 minifigures are listed with their piece count and some small details about them. The characters’ taglines and bios will be updated as soon as they become available. There is a new official image of the LEGO The Hobbit Dol Guldur Battle (79014) set from the upcoming 2014 wave. It shows a couple of sections of Dol Guldur as well as all the minifigures included in the set: Azog, Gandalf the Grey, Radagast, 2 Gundabad Orcs, and the Necromancer of Dol Guldur. We’ve just got a report from a reader of some LEGO polybags that are in the Christmas section of Target stores. There are three different polybags that Target is selling as stocking stuffers for the upcoming holiday season: Friends Ice Cream Stand (30106), Seasonal Christmas Train (40034), and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Kraang’s Turtle Target Practice (30270). If you didn’t get a chance to get the TMNT one a few months ago at Toys R Us, you now have a second chance to pick them up.
