LEGO DC Universe Super Heroes Robin’s Redbird Cycle (30166) Revealed

Thatblockoguy over at the Brickset forum has posted an image of the LEGO DC Universe Super Heroes Robin’s Redbird Cycle (30166). The polybag will be a FREE Canadian Toys R Us giveaway with a $30 purchase or more of LEGO Super Heroes sets. In the footnote of the image, there is a max of 25 per store.

Back in January, Flickr user smokebelch posted an image (see below) of what could be the Redbird Cycle using the parts list from Brickset. It wasn’t far off from what the official polybag set looks like. There’s no word yet if the set will be available elsewhere in the world after this promotion.

LEGO CUUSOO ATLAS Mini Model Achieves 10000 Supporters

The ATLAS Mini Model – Education/Outreach Project by SaMe on LEGO CUUSOO has quickly reached the 10000 supporters needed to be reviewed by The LEGO Jury in the 2013 Fall Review. The reason why the project hit the goal so fast is because of the help of a science related Facebook Page. With over 5 million likes on the page itself, thousands of people saw the project on their Facebook stream and helped support it. The influx of supporters actually crashed the server that CUUSOO is on and the response was overwhelming.

The ATLAS Mini Model is based on the ATLAS Experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. If you’ve been following science news, the LHC is a particle accelerator used to prove or disprove the Higgs boson or the “God particle.” In July 2012, ATLAS was one of the experiments that was involved in the discovery of a particle that was similar to the Higgs boson. The Mini Model consists of 560 pieces and is able to be built in less than an hour.

Congratulations to SaMe for getting this amazing achievement! We’ll see later this year if the project will pass the review stage and become an official set or not. Science projects have had a good track record on passing the review stage. Below is the official comment from CUUSOO.

Congrats on 10,000 Supporters, SaMe!

2013.06.20

Oh my Higgs Boson!

Congratulations to SaMe and to our new friends who really, really love science, on successfully reaching 10,000 supporters in such a short time.

The LEGO Movie Trailer

The LEGO Movie Poster (Bigger Version)

Warner Brothers has released a teaser trailer for The LEGO Movie that will be coming out February 14, 2014. The movie features many big name stars including Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Alison Brie, and Nick Offerman.

The first-ever full length featured film centers around Emmet who will be saving the world from total destruction. The trailer shows many minifigures from different LEGO sets being introduced by Vitruvius voiced by Freeman. He also says that they “have learned that Lord Business plans to end the world as we know it. There is yet one hope. The ‘Special’ as arisen.” The scene then pans to Emmet voiced by Pratt who has no idea what is going on. The trailer then shows a lot of amazing action sequences using stop-motion animation as well as CGI. You also get a glimpse of Lucy, played by Banks, who might be the love interest of the hero.

International Version

The LEGO Movie follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. Emmet (Chris Pratt) is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which he is hopelessly and hilariously under prepared.

Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Nick Offerman and Alison Brie join Chris Pratt to form the cast of the first-ever full length theatrical LEGO movie, the greatest movie ever assembled, which is
