Toy Fairs Delayed/Cancelled Around the World

This is usually the time of the year where we get excited for some of the toy fairs that where we get details of the 2HY LEGO sets. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic is still wrecking havoc around the world and that means that many of the events that should be happening have been delayed further or cancelled altogether. The big one is the New York Toy Fair which is when we get a first glimpse at the sets but they have announced that the show will not be taking place this year, at least in New York. It was originally planned for May 2021. In addition, the London Toy Fair has announced that their event will not be taking place either while the Nuremberg Toy Fair has been pushed to summer 2021.

Obviously this is disappointing but not unexpected and understandable due to the events happening throughout the world. LEGO has been doing their own reveals, as seen late last year, when they revealed some of the new products that have been recently released on the LEGO Shop. It’s wishful thinking but maybe they could something like what Hasbro is doing with Hasbro Pulse and Fan First Friday’s where they reveal new products every week but that probably won’t happen. As least we’ll still get guaranteed reveals of the D2C sets that will be released this year.

LEGO Bionicle Leads LEGO Ideas 90th Anniversary Fan Vote

Earlier this week, LEGO kicked off a fan vote campaign to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the company to choose one classic LEGO theme that they will make a set for. As of this post, there have been 58,632 votes cast for the three LEGO themes that will move one to the next round of voting.

It’s hard to see to has voted what but I have been forwarded to a post by StoneWars who has done the hard work of aggregating the data and has calculated the three themes that are in the lead which are Bionicle, Classic Space, and Pirates. Trains and Adventurers were very close behind so the last spot may have changed since their post so every vote matters. Not surprisingly, Bionicle has an overwhelming lead as that community is very passionate about the theme.

There are three days left to cast your votes for the LEGO theme that you want to see be made into a set in the near future. The fan vote will end on January 25 at 4am EST.

LEGO Speed Champions Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO (30342) Walmart Sale – January 2021

Many retailers are doing heavy discounts in stores on various LEGO sets and I’ve been told a few times that Walmart has the LEGO Speed Champions Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO (30342) polybag on sale for only $0.50. Normally, polybags are now priced at $4.97 but some people have found them for a whopping 90% off. You can check Brickseek to see if there are any near you.
