If you didn’t see the January 2020 LEGO Store Calendar, we will be getting another Chinese New Year set with the LEGO Seasonal Year of the Rat (40355). You will be able to get it from January 13-26 with purchases of $80 or more which is a little bit lower than previous years’ threshold of $88.
Technically, this will be the seventh zodiac animal that has been released by LEGO but only the fourth that has been widely available on Shop@Home. The Snake, Sheep, and Monkey were previously Asia exclusives so hopefully LEGO will remake them for the mass market.

January 1-12: Free LEGO Keychain with purchases of $35 or more, while supplies last. Choose from blue or purple.=
January 8: LEGO Creator Newsstand Building Event. Sign ups start on January 6 and there is limited space available.

Now that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is out in theaters, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has also released their teaser trailer for the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga video game. The game comes out next year and will feature all nine movies in the Skywalker saga with their own humor thrown into it.
Releasing on January 1 are some new LEGO BrickHeadz sets and one of them that I’m really excited for is the Lucky Cat (40436). It has 134 pieces and will retail for $9.99. The contents of the box include three unnumbered bags, the instruction booklet, and a couple of loose plates.
Late last night, LEGO FORMA released probably their last update informing backers and followers that FORMA will not be be moving forward with any additional products. Also, they stated that leftover inventory of the UK version of the Koi (81000) will only be sold at Shop@Home UK. If you still want one, now is the time to jump on it. If you’re outside of the UK, I would suggest asking a friend who lives there and is able to get you one or use a reshipper service. It’s unfortunate that LEGO FORMA won’t be moving forward but maybe LEGO could do another crowdsourcing product in the future as FORMA was a learning experience for them.
A few weeks ago, I reported that the price for the LEGO DC Comics Collectible Minifigures (71026) would be raising to $4.97 at Walmart and I can now also confirm that they have also been raised on Shop@Home. For those who didn’t think it was true, LEGO has listed the product page and it clearly shows that each minifigure pack will be $4.99 each and will be released on January 1.
Again, I’m not sure why the price increase but fans aren’t happy about it. This change will definitely affect buying decisions as some before would just purchase a whole box to forgo feeling for each one. Thanks to David for the heads up.
