New Star Wars Trilogy Announced

StarWars.com has just announced that Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Rian Johnson, will be creating a brand new Star Wars trilogy that will be coming in the future. This trilogy will be separate from the Skywalker saga and will introduce new characters that have never been on screen before. There’s no word on what the movies will consist of or when then will be in theaters.

Since it was stated that it will be separate from the original and current trilogies, my wish is for it to be based on the Old Republic story which takes place about 3,600 years before A New Hope. Some of the major characters that are part of this storyline include Revan, Darth Malgus, Satele Shan, Jace Malcom, and so on. This could continue into the Jedi Civil War storyline where Darth Revan takes on Malak as his apprentice. Of course all of this is part of Star Wars Legends banner which isn’t canon anymore so I’m not sure if Lucasfilms will go that route.

Because LEGO has a licensing agreement with Lucasfilm, there’s no doubt that there will be some sets that will be released alongside this new trilogy. What would you like to see for these new movies? Let us know in the comments below.

Target 2015 LEGO Minifigure Gift Box (5004077) Available Again

Here’s something that is a blast from the past over on Target’s website. The 2015 LEGO Minifigure Gift Box (5004077) is now available again for purchase for whatever reason so if you didn’t get it two years ago or if you’re a newer LEGO fan, you can now buy it again for $9.99. There’s no details on how much inventory they actually have in stock.

It contains four exclusive minifigures that you won’t find in sets and they include LEGO Ninjago Stone Armor Kai, LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Lightning Lad, LEGO Legends of Chima Sir Fangar, and a LEGO City Diver. I’ve already done a review of the set a few years ago so you can check that out if you want.

Thanks to Yoritomo for bring it to my attention.

The LEGO Batman Movie Disco Batman & Tears of Batman (30607) Available Again Starting Black Friday

LEGO Black Friday 2017

I’ve already talked about some of the promotions that will be happening during Brick/Black Friday 2017 at LEGO Brand Stores and on Shop@Home. These promos include the free LEGO Seasonal Nutcracker (40254) with a purchase of $99 or more, a free Canvas Tote Bag with a purchase of $199 or more, and free shipping on all orders.

As you can see above, LEGO has added on another promotion starting on Black Friday which is a free The LEGO Batman Movie Disco Batman & Tears of Batman (30607) polybag with a purchase of The Joker Manor (70922). The promo will be at both LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home and will run until the end of the year, while supplies last. This is a nice addition if you were already planning on getting The Joker Manor and especially if you didn’t get a chance to get the polybag when it was first available earlier in the year.

LEGO Inside Tour 2018 Registration Now Open

Registration for the 2018 LEGO Inside Tour has begun and it’s time to put your name on the list if you want to participate this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Unlike previous years, it doesn’t look like it’s a first-come, first-served but more of a waiting listing and LEGO choosing random people. The deadline to enter is Friday, November 10 at 10am CET.

There are five tours that are available and if it’s the same as before, about 80 or so attendees are chosen for each session. The dates that you can attend are:

May 23-25
May 30-June 1
June 13-15
September 12-14
September 19-21

What is LEGO Inside Tour?

LEGO Inside Tour provides a unique look into the LEGO Group often referred to as ‘a once–in-a-lifetime experience’. You are invited inside Ole Kirk Kristiansen’s original house, featuring an extraordinary exhibition of LEGO sets and models that date back to 1934. You will meet LEGO employees and especially LEGO designers, who will introduce you to their daily work at the LEGO Group, and you will take part in a unique building experience together with LEGO designers. Part of the LEGO Inside Tour consists of a factory tour, where you can see how LEGO bricks are produced. LEGO Inside Tour also stops at the LEGO staff shop.

At the end of the tour, you will receive a unique gift exclusively produced in close cooperation with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen especially for this year’s LEGO Inside Tour participants.

The LEGO Group’s headquarters are based in Billund, Denmark, and here the LEGO Inside

It is currently at $31.99 which is 20% off the retail price of $39.99 and includes Prime shipping. Open a door of this super-fun advent calendar each day in December to discover a LEGO® Star Wars themed minifigure, starship, vehicle or other collectible. There’s even a foldout playmat featuring images from Jakku, Starkiller Base and deep space for epic Star Wars encounters. This holiday gift is perfect for rebels, Sith Lords, Scavengers and any other life form, and includes 7 minifigures and a BB-8 figure.

LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Pod (5005376) Revealed

LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Pod

Yesterday I reported on the December 2017 LEGO Store Calendar and probably the most interesting promotion for the month is the LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Pod (5005376). It will be available from December 15 – January 14, 2018 with a LEGO Star Wars purchase of $60 or more, while supplies last.

The Darth Vader Pod continues the series of pods that have been released or will be released this year including the Batman Battle Pod (4929), Nexo Knights Armor Pod (5004914), The LEGO Ninjago Movie Kai’s Dojo Pod (5004916), and Friends Ski Pod (5004920). The latter two Pods are available at Toys R Us. Unlike the other pods in which you can purchase individually, the Darth Vader Pod most likely won’t be unless Toys R Us carries it late next year.
