LEGO has released the designer video for the LEGO Creator Winter Village Station (10259) which was announced earlier this morning. If you didn’t see the press release yet, the set will be available for VIP Early Access on September 14 and general release on October 1. The Winter Village Station will have 902 pieces and retail for $79.99 and is a companion set to the last year’s Winter Holiday Train (10254).
LEGO currently has a special promotion going on for LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Batman Classic TV Series – Batcave (76052) on Shop@Home, while supplies last. It is currently on sale for $199.99 whicih is about 26% off the regular price of $269.99. You can also get double points for purchasing the set and you will be getting a free The LEGO Batman Movie Collectible Minifigure (71017) as well. Adding on to that, you also get the LEGO Iconic Cave (5004936) set and the LEGO Build to Learn Pack (5004933) as the more recent promo items. The Batcave is one of the direct-to-consumer sets that is reported to be retiring very soon and this promotion is a great time to pick it up if you haven’t yet. The LEGO Ninjago Movie Ninjago City (70620) is now available for early access purchase for VIP members on Shop@Home. The $299.99 set has 4,867 pieces and is one of the largest sets LEGO has produced and probably one of the best sets released this year. We’ll have our review of Ninjago City once our review copy comes in the mail but feel free to enjoy it in the meantime.

At the end of last year, LEGO ran a Friends Designer contest and the the winner will have their model become an official product. The winner was an 8 year old from London named Sienna who’s submission would eventually become the Heartlake City Playground (41325). Heartlake Times has the official images and product description of the set which will be available starting on September 1. There’s even a brand new minidoll named after Sienna. How cool is that! Earlier today, The LEGO Group has announced that the Board of Directors has appointed Niels B. Christiansen as the new CEO of the company. Christiansen replaces Bali Padda who took over at the beginning of the year. Read the full press release below.

Christiansen was most recently CEO of global industrial technology company, Danfoss, a position he held for nine years until end of June 2017. Christiansen replaces Bali Padda, 61, a long-standing LEGO Group executive, who will assume a special advisory role with LEGO Brand Group.
Jørgen Vig Knudstorp, Executive Chairman of LEGO Brand Group said, ‘Niels is a great leader who delivered outstanding results while CEO of Danfoss. There, he transformed a traditional industrial company into a technology leader. His experience in digitalisation and globalisation, implementing a transformative strategy, and creating an agile, high performing, international team will benefit the LEGO Group. In recent years, LEGO has released some peculiar standalone sets featuring some past minifigures. It started off with the Iconic Easter (5004468) set with the Chicken Suit Guy then last year with the Gingerbread Man (5005156). Starting tomorrow, LEGO kicks off a new promotion that runs until the end of August which will feature the Iconic Cave Caveman & Cavewoman (5004936). You can get it for free with a purchase of $50 or more at LEGO Brand Stores and on Shop@Home.
The packaging is fairly interesting. Throughout the whole box, there are various things that are carved into the stone wall including a minifigure blueprint on the back. Also on the back is a lost poster of their supposed pet dinosaur. The door is perforated and it opens to reveal the Caveman and Cavewoman.
The Caveman was first introduced in the Series 1 Collectible Minifigures (8683). For this version, he has a pelt outfit that is more brown than before but unfortunately like before, there is no back printing. He has the same head with the bushy eyebrows and large smile. His hair/beard piece, however, is different with the new Caveman having a dark brown piece. His accessory is a dark brown club.
The Cavewoman was also from a previous Collectible Minifigures series (Series 5 – 8805) and like the Caveman, she has a similar design pattern from before. For the new version, she has a brown outfit with tan outlines. Like before, the hair piece is a soft rubber mold but this one … Continue
IGN has released some new images of the character posters for The LEGO Ninjago Movie. The posters feature the main characters in the movie along with their respective vehicles. All of the vehicles are now available as LEGO sets except for Cole’s Quake Mech which is rumored to be available later this year/early next year.
Although the September 2017 LEGO Store Calendar doesn’t show these particular posters available as GWP, hopefully we get them in October or in future months.
