LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Mighty Micros: Wolverine vs. Magneto (76073) Review

When the new wave of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Mighty Micros sets were revealed last year, one of my more anticipated sets was Wolverine vs. Magneto (76073). It has 85 pieces and retails for the usual $9.99. The contents of the box include two un-numbered bags, a box with the cape, two instruction leaflets for each Mighty Micro, and another leaflet for the parts list. On the back of the parts list, there’s an ad for the upcoming winter 2017 wave of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes sets which are coming out in March.

LEGO City Cargo Train (60054) Sale on Amazon

If you want to expand your LEGO City train layout while picking up an older train set at a pretty decent price, Amazon has the Cargo Train (60052) for $139.99 which is $60.00 (30%) off the normal retail price of $199.99. This is one of the lowest prices this set has been at. Keep in mind that the Cargo Train was released in 2014 so it could be on the brink of retirement soon to make way for newer sets as it reaches it’s third year of shelf life.

LEGO Star Wars UCS Snowspeeder (75144) Rumored for May the 4th

It’s that time again of the year when rumors of upcoming LEGO direct-to-consumer sets are starting to come in and for May the 4th, I’ve been told from an anonymous source that it will be the LEGO Star Wars UCS Snowspeeder (75144). I’ve correlated this information with another of my sources and they do match up so it looks like it may be true. There was talk of this set last year but there was no concrete information on it except for a listing on Brickset.

LEGO has released a UCS Snowspeeder before with set 10129 back in 2003 which had 1,455 pieces and retailed for $130 but the info I got today states the new one will go for $199.99, as UCS sets usually go for these days. If this information is correct, that means the rumored UCS Millennium Falcon could be the UCS set for the second half of the year.

The LEGO Batman Movie Costumes Now Available on Amazon

Last year, I reported that Disguise would be releasing official costumes for The LEGO Batman Movie and it looks like they are now available over on Amazon. Currently, I can only find the Batman costume but there will also be Batgirl as well.

Like with the LEGO Ninjago costume I reviewed last year, Batman will come in three sizes in both Deluxe and Prestige versions. The costume has six pieces to it including the tunic with detachable cape, pants, mask, and a pair of hands. The Prestige version will have the minifigure leg design.

Who says costumes are only for Halloween. With The LEGO Batman MOvie hitting theaters next month, why not have your own little Batman with you while watching the movie.

The LEGO Batman Movie Toys Coming to McDonald’s

It looks like LEGO and McDonald’s will be teaming up again this year for some toys for The LEGO Batman Movie. I’ve been sent the above image showing a part of a Happy Meal box which shows there will be some sort of promotion for the movie next month but doesn’t say what it will be.

If you remember from 2014, LEGO did a McDonald’s promotion for The LEGO Movie with some Action Cups. Hopefully we get something similar or better for The LEGO Batman Movie. I’m sure fans would want some actual LEGO but that hasn’t happened for a long time.

LEGO Seasonal Romantic Valentine Picnic (40236) Review

For my first review of the year, I have the new LEGO Seasonal Romantic Valentine Picnic (40236). This year’s Seasonal sets goes back to the vignette style sets that were more popular than the character builds from last year. The set contains 126 pieces and retails for $9.99. The contents of the box include three un-numbered bags, an 8×8 green plate, and the instructions. The back of the instructions show the next LEGO Seasonal set with the Easter Egg Hunt (40237).

LEGO Creator Mini Volkswagen Beetle (40252) Building Instructions

You may have seen an image of the LEGO Creator Mini Volkswagen Beetle (40252) floating around the internet for the past few weeks or so. The set is basically a smaller version of the Volkswagen Beetle (10252) which was released last year. The set is currently available in Hong Kong with a purchase of HK$2800 (~US$360) but word is that it will be going to Europe later this month and who knows if it will reach North America.

Luckily for everyone, LEGO has uploaded the building instructions in PDF form. I’ve also posted an images of the parts list for reference. The Mini Volkswagen Beetle does include stickers so you won’t be able to recreate the set completely but you can still build it. Some of the dark azure parts are fairly rare as well so building it in a different color is recommended too and I feel that many of you will be doing this.
