Top 10 LEGO 2016 Sets

I’ve had quite a few readers asking if I would do a post about my top 10 LEGO sets of 2016. Since this is the last week of the year, I guess this is now a good time to do that post. According to Brickset, there was 828 sets released this year, including gift with purchase sets, so whittling it down to 10 is quite hard to do. Again, this is just my list of top 10 sets and may vary from other people.

10. LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters (75827)

Probably one of the best items for any Ghostbusters fan is the Firehouse Headquarters (75827). Coming in at over 4,600 pieces, there is a ton of little details from both the original Ghostbusters movies that you can find. Check out my review of the set here.

9. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge (76057)

As one of the largest non-D2C LEGO Marvel Super Heroes set to be released, the Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge (76057) is a great set with lots of exclusive minifigures included such as Scarlet Spider and Kraven. Many fans have even bought two sets to make a complete bridge.

8. LEGO Creator Vacation Getaways (31052)

This 3-in-1 set is a pretty neat set that looks great as the standard model but can also be rebuilt into a summer home and a yacht. The RV is one of the best models of this type of vehicle I’ve seen.

LEGO Dimensions Upcoming Expansion Packs Datamined

LEGO Dimensions Teen Titans Go!

Here’s something very interesting coming from one of our readers who have shared some information about some upcoming LEGO Dimensions expansion packs. We already knew that we would be getting expansion packs from franchises such as Teen Titans Go! and LEGO City Undercover when it was first announced.

A reader did some datamining and found some expansion packs that would be coming out for some franchises. Looking at the info, it looks like LEGO City: Undercover will be a Chase McCain Fun Pack while Teen Titans Go! will be a Team Pack which includes both Raven and Beast Boy. For that set, it’ll be either 71254 or 71255. There’s also some details of the Powerpuff Girls which will include all three characters of Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. No word about which expansion pack(s) they will be in.

What’s most interesting out of the screenshot is the Lord Vortech Fun Pack which could mean that we’ll finally be getting a Lord Vortech minifigure which fans have been asking for since LEGO Dimensions was first released. Of course, this could be just dummy info to throw everyone off but we’ll see.

Thanks to Matthew for the info.

LEGO Seasonal Gingerbread Man (5005156)

There are now official images of the upcoming promotion for the LEGO Seasonal Gingerbread Man (5005156) minifigure box. You can get it for free with purchases of $50 or more at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home from December 12-18. The box is similar to the Easter Minifigure (5004486) but decorated to his theme. The Gingerbread Man himself is not exclusive as he was released back in 2013 with Series 11 Collectible Minifigures (71002). The only difference is that this one does not have the red “Dunk Me” cup as an accessory.

For those who missed him a few years ago or got into LEGO after that set retired, next week is you best chance of getting him if you’re still doing some holiday shopping. Of course you can also BrickLink him but he commands around $10 for just the minifigure.
