LEGO Voltron Minifigure Shirt Available on Ript Apparel

Ript Apparel LEGO Voltron

There hasn’t been much LEGO t-shirts available lately but Ript Apparel has a very cool LEGO Voltron minifigure shirt available for 24 hours. The shirt starts at $11 and there are other items available with the design as well including hoodies, posters, coasters, and more. Shipping and handling starts at $2.98 here in the US and is planned to ship out this Friday. As a big fan of the original Voltron series back in the 80s, this shirt is a no-brainer purchase for me especially with the new Netflix series coming later this year as well.

As always, you can help support The Brick Fan buy purchasing the Voltron shirt using the links above.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Video Game Side Mission Details

Last week, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment released details of the new LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Video Game. We already know that the main game will be based on the blockbuster hit but there is even more gameplay to it.

Today Game Informer has released details of some of the side missions and events that will be in the game which lets players explore backstories of some of the characters. There are six full optional missions that are unlocked when you collect enough gold bricks.

One of these missions include how C-3PO got this red arm. This part of the story hasn’t been released yet but will be explained in an one-shot Marvel comic in March but we also get to play through it later this year. Another mission that was teased is the events of how the Rathars were captured aboard Han Solo and Chewbacca’s Eravana freighter.

Again, the LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Video Game will be available on June 28 on a variety of systems. There is also the Deluxe Edition available for Playstation 4 and XBox One which includes the exclusive 30605 Finn (FN-2187) minifigure polybag as well as the Season Pass for the game.

New LEGO Holiday Train Rumored for 2016

The talk around the LEGO community the past few days is about new LEGO Holiday Christmas Train that is rumored to be coming out later this year. This was first reported by nesquik on Eurobricks and was brought to light by Just2Good. It was mentioned that it is not a re-release of the 2006 Holiday Train (10173) so we don’t have to worry about the same issue that happened last year with the re-release of the Winter Toy Shop (10248). Keep in mind that nesquik has given legit information before in the past so what they are saying could be true. Of course things can change by the time the holiday season rolls around so I wouldn’t put too much into this rumor until some concrete details are uncovered. If a new Holiday Train is actually coming out this winter, would you guys be picking it up?

Update: The new Winter Holiday Train (10254) has been officially announced.

LEGO Star Wars: Rogue One Set Numbers

Continuing with the LEGO Star Wars news for today, this post pertains to the upcoming Rogue One sets that will be coming out later this year. The Rogue One subtheme was announced at the Nuremberg Toy Fair last week and there’s been much talk about it the past week or so, mainly if the Slave I shown in the image would be one of the sets along with Boba Fett.

There are now some new box outline images from a retailer catalog which I won’t be posting but they do give some detail in to the Rogue One sets. There are five sets based on the movie with set numbers:

75152
75153
75154
75155
75156

There are also three Buildable Figures based on the Rogue One movie with set numbers:

75119
75120
75121

Note that the background image does show a TIE Fighter flying in the back. Whether or not it will be a set or not remains to be seen. Obviously, there are no info yet on the prices, piece count, etc. but we should be getting more details later this summer. It’s been reported earlier that the sets will be released this October.

Bricks Issue 9 Special Promotion

Bricks Issue 9

The folks over at Bricks has sent over a new press release regarding Issue 9 as well as a special promotion for it.

All orders of Bricks issue 9 print, single orders and subscriptions will receive a free digital edition*.

Inspired by the Ghostbusters Firehouse, Bricks goes all retro, looking at an era that has influenced some of the finest franchises and sets to date. So flick back your mullets, plump your shoulder pads and enjoy celebrating a decadent decade.

It was a generation that tasted cable television, fed on Hollywood blockbusters and consumed merchandising like no other. Collectable culture was born, every show came with its own toy line leading to a mass production that oozed originality and new levels of creativity. LEGO upped the anti as new exciting themes hit our shelves. It was here that we were introduced to the likes of Classic Space, Pirates and Castle collections, to name but a few… it was no longer just about the city.

The issue starts with a thorough examination of the long-awaited Ghostbusters Firehouse set before blasting back through the decade. Michael LeCount chooses his ten best sets of the ’80s, David Alexander Smith shows us his Neo-Classic Space dinosaurs while Orion Pax recreates iconic toys with LEGO. The likes of Optimus Prime, Castle Grayskull and Inspector Gadget are all brought to life through the brick. Lucy Boughton looks at the official licenses inspired by the decade’s finest films, alongside a peek at LEGO food throughout the years.

Jumping back into the present we

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Advent Calendar (75146) Details

The 2016 Nuremberg Toy Fair is still going on and PromoBricks is still giving out tidbids about some of the summer sets we should be expecting. You may have noticed that there were no photography for the upcoming Star Wars sets. There are reports saying that LEGO wants to keep a couple of the sets under wraps because it involves a new LEGO Star Wars property for later this year. However, there are some details of the 2016 Advent Calendar (75146). If you don’t want to be spoiled, I suggest STOP reading now.

LEGO Seasonal 2016 Christmas Ornament (40223) Building Instructions

LEGO Seasonal 2016 Christmas Ornament (40223)

A few days ago, a new image of the LEGO Seasonal 2016 Christmas Ornament (40223) showed up online and now the instructions are also available if you want to build your own. Keep in mind that the 8×8 radar trans-clear radar dish (6093714) is a brand new piece so you may have to substitute something else in the meantime. You might also want to download the PDF while it is still available as I assume that LEGO didn’t want the instructions to be released this early in the year. This set will most likely be available during the holiday season as one of the LEGO promotions.
