LEGO Star Wars TC-4 Polybag Promo Found in Hong Kong

Bkctsang on Eurobricks has reported that the Hong Kong Toys R Us is having a promotion for the first 150 customers who spend more than HK$1200. Those lucky customers will be randomly given a LEGO Star Wars polybag which includes a choice from the Chrome Darth Vader, the White Boba Fett, and a new TC-4 minifigure. The TC-4 is a very obscure character in the Star Wars universe who was owned by Senator Palpatine. It was only mentioned in books and was even cut from Episode I. We’ll see in a few months if the TC-4 polybag is this year’s May the Fourth LEGO promotion or not.

Some LEGO Star Wars 2014 Polybags Revealed

Brickset has updated their database with some new LEGO Star Wars 2014 polybags. LEGO Star Wars 2014 Partial Set Details

It was only yesterday that we reported on some of the new LEGO Star Wars 2014 Summer sets. Members over on Eurobricks have already found some preliminary images of a couple of the sets from a retailer catalog. The images originated from a user on Instagram below are some details of what I saw.

Jedi Hunter Frontier (75051)

Contains 4 minifigures: Jek-14, unnamed Ithorian Jedi Master, RA-7 Protocal Droid, unnamed Astromech Droid. The set could be another one based on The Yoda Chronicles.

Mos Eisley Cantina (75052)

Looks to have 7 minifigures: Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Greedo, Sandtrooper, and 3 Bith musicians of the Cantina Band who have Squidward’s head. Hopefully the heads are only temporary. Set also includes the Dewback who we saw in the 2013 Advent Calendar bonus video. The image also shows part of Luke’s Landspeeder in the shot but not sure if it’s included in the set. Considering the 8092 version only had 163 pieces and the Cantina itself is slightly larger than the 4501 version, LEGO could combine the two sets since the new set has 615 pieces. Again, these are preliminary shots so anything can change.

AT-AT (75054)

Contains 5 minifigures: AT-AT Driver, General Veers, Snowtrooper Commander, Snowtrooper x2. AT-AT looks very similar to the 8129 version but with a slightly updated look.

Imperial Star Destroyer (75055)

Contains 6 minifigures: Darth Vader, Imperial Officer, Imperial Crew, Stormtroopers x2, some other guy I can’t make out. Looks similar to previous Imperial Destroyers but with some slight changes. It looks like the … Continue

LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 Epic Split

You’ve seen the Jean Jean-Claude Van Damme Volvo truck split. You may have also seen the Chuck Norris Christmas airplane split. Well R2-D2 has joined the fray. With the help of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker, R2 has done his version of the epic split between Luke’s Landspeeder and the Desert Skiff. The video was created by Antonio Toscano who we’ve featured here before with his trailers of Star Trek Into Darkness and The Wolverine. Head over to his channel to see more of his well-made stop motion videos.

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Advent Calendar (75023) Round Up

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Advent Calendar (75023)

Yesterday we finally completed the LEGO Star Wars 2013 Advent Calendar (75023) with Jango Fett being this year’s Santa. Like with other many other LEGO sets, there are hits and misses with the Advent Calendar.

Hits

There are a couple of builds and minifigures that I liked in the calendar such as the Republic Assault Ship, the AT-TE/Republic Dropship combo, Jedi Starfighter, and Jango’s Slave I. There are also quite a few army-builder minifigures including some fairly rare ones in the redesigned Scout Trooper and the Rebel Commando. Plus you can’t forget the return of young Boba Fett and Santa Jango Fett.

Misses

There weren’t that many things I didn’t like for this year but some little things get repetitive with the calendars. One of those things is the weapons racks. I feel the weapons should be included with the minifigures and those certain days could be used for other builds. Also those Battle Droids keep sneaking in the calendars. They may be great for others but they aren’t really for me.

Results

After comparing this year’s calendar to previous years, in my opinion, it is better than last year but a notch lower than the 2011 version. In number of pieces, the 2013 version has 254 pieces which is right in between the previous years. You may able to find them discounted in stores in the near future if you want to get one.

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Advent Calendar (75023) – Day 24

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Advent Calendar (75023) - Day 24

We have now reached the end of the LEGO Star Wars 2013 Advent Calendar (75023). Let’s see who the “surprise” is.

For the final day of this years Advent Calendar, we have Santa Jango Fett. His torso is of his Mandaorian armor but with more appropriate printing on both the front and back. The front has some fur lining on the top, a sprig of holly on the middle, and some small presents on the belt. The back of the torso also has some fur lining printing as well. Jango’s head is the same one as the regular version of the minifigure. His helmet is also the same blue version although I wish it was red instead to match the outfit. He also has a sack on his back with orange and lime presents represented by 1×2 tiles. Overall, Santa Jango Fett is a nice addition to the Star Wars Advent Calendar line joining Santa Yoda and Santa Darth Maul from the previous years. We’ll have a round-up post tomorrow of the LEGO Star Wars 2013 Advent Calendar and give a grade on it. Thank you for following us the past 24 days. Have a very Merry Christmas!
