LEGO Star Wars Character Construction Ultrabuild Sets Coming in 2015

As we mentioned yesterday, the LEGO Star Wars sets were displayed at the 2015 Nuremberg Toy Fair but photography was prohibited but that won’t stop reports from coming out describing them. Michael over at Promo Bricks mentions there will be a new line of construction figures that will look similar to General Grievous (10186) from 2008. However, these sets won’t have any TECHNIC pieces and will be like the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Ultrabuild sets from 2012. Michael also mentioned that they will be available in October but from the report we got a few weeks ago, they will be available in September. There’s no word on who the characters will be but Boba Fett will definitely be one of them. More details as they come.

Star Wars (75107) – £14.99
Star Wars (75108) – £14.99

LEGO Star Wars Stormtrooper Sergeant (5002938) Minifigure Polybag Found

LEGO Star Wars Stormtrooper Sergeant Polybag

Now that we’ve cooled down a little bit from all the LEGO Scooby-Doo news this morning, let’s turn our attention to LEGO Star Wars. There’s a new image coming out of Eurobricks of a Stormtrooper Sergeant (5002938) minifigure polybag from the Rebels line. There’s no mentioning of how it will be distributed because it’s not on our list of 2015 promotions. If I were to guess, it will be available to volunteers who participate in the 2015 LEGOLAND California Star Wars Days by building and bringing a MOC to display. I’ll have to confirm with Ace from FBTB later if this is the minifigure that will be given out or not. I would also guess that it’ll be available to the general public at a later date, most likely as a gift with purchase.

Update: There’s also reports that the Stormtrooper Sergeant will be available in a goodie bag for the first 500 visitors to the park who are dressed up in a Star Wars costume.

LEGOLAND California Star Wars Days 2015 Participation Details

LEGOLAND California Star Wars Days 2014

Star Wars Days at LEGOLAND California is almost here and FBTB has information on how you can participate in their annual Fan Gallery in the area on top of The Model Shop. If you haven’t attended Star Wars Days before, the Fan Gallery is pretty much a collection of Star Wars themed MOCs that local builders bring to show the public. You can check out the builds from last year here.

There are some incentives this year to volunteering your time and/or bringing a MOC. For just volunteering, you can get a Star Wars Days 2015 T-shirt, free entry to the park and lunch for the day of your shift. Each shift consists of a total of four hours.

For bringing a MOC, you get free entry to the park for both days of the event as well as lunch, and “exclusive” minifigure, a discount coupon for The Big Shop (20% off of up to 5 items), and a pair of complimentary passes to the park for future use.

Also for bringing a MOC, there are also prizes for best builds in a particular category (Empire Strikes Back Vignettes, Star Wars Comic Bricks, Star Wars Cube Dudes Diorama, Evolved Starfighters, and The General Category). To read more on those prizes, head over to the FBTB link above to see what you could possibly win if you bring a MOC and it is chosen as a winner. You can also contact Ace if you have any questions.

LEGO January 2015 Promotional Polybags Sold Out (Almost)

It hasn’t been a week yet into 2015 but there’s already bad news. Remember all those promos that LEGO was having with the LEGO Creator Flower Cart (40140), LEGO Star Wars AT-DP (30274), and the LEGO Friends Mini Golf Set (30203)? I’m sad to say that the first two has pretty much been completely sold out. You heard that right. In fact from what I heard, the AT-DP was sold out probably on the second or third day, even at my local LEGO Store. Below is what a rep from LEGO emailed to one of our readers:

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

I’m so sorry the LEGO® 30274 Star Wars AT-DP is in fact sold out completely. We received such a high amount of orders we quickly sold out of it.

There is a way you might still be able to get the promotional set though! I see based on your address you do have a local LEGO® Brand Retail store close by. I will provide the address and phone number to you so you might be able to give them a call and see if they have one in stock.

So that brings us to the question of did LEGO underestimate the amount of orders they are going to get? To take it a step further, was it a mistake of making the AT-DP available free for any LEGO Star Wars purchase? With that stipulation, any Star Wars purchase would have qualified you to get the polybag including keychains which was a … Continue

LEGO Star Wars Rebels AT-DP Polybag (30274) Review

If you made a LEGO Star Wars purchase at the LEGO Store or on Shop@Home, you would have received one of the new LEGO Star Wars Rebels polybags for 2015, the 65-piece AT-DP (30274).

If you’re not familiar with the All Terrain Defense Pod, that is because it is a fairly new Imperial walker that’s mostly been seen so far in the Star Wars Rebels animated series. It is a variant of the AT-ST and has a armored head with a single laser cannon that is mounted in the lower front area. They are deployed to check out areas that have suspected Rebel activity.

Although the AT-DP is a smaller version, it does have a similiar look as its larger counterpart with set 75083icon. Note that it does not come with a minifigure but I’ve displayed one next to the AT-DP to show a size comparison.

LEGO Star Wars Rebels AT-DP Polybag (30274)

Overall, the AT-DP (30274) is good for what you get, if you can get it. I’m hearing reports that Shop@Home is no longer offering the polybag even if you have a Star Wars set in your shopping cart. I’m not sure if they ran out online or if LEGO is still having issues with their website. As far as I know, LEGO Brand Stores are still handing these out but you may want to make your purchases earlier in the month and not wait because they will eventually run out as well.
