Since today is Thursday, I decided to do a Throwback Thursday review of a fairly older set. It’s something that close to me since technically I’m currently working for the company part-time. This set is the licensed LEGO City Toy R Us Truck (7848) which was first released back in 2010. The set was a Toys R Us exclusive and sold for $44.99 but I managed to get it at a pretty decent price and I couldn’t pass it up. The set contains 356 pieces and comes with two instruction booklets.
Today Warner Bros Home Entertainment announced the latest LEGO DC Comic Super Heroes feature film, Justice League: Attack of the Legion of Doom!
. The Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital HD Combo pack will be available on August 25.
Mark Hamill will be doing some voices in the movie including Trickster and Sinestro while Troy Baker will again be voicing Batman.
As we know by now, these LEGO animated movies often will come with an exclusive minifigure and I’m 99.9% sure that the Trickser minifigure we saw last year will be included in the combo pack. Check out the full synopsis below as well as the trailer for Justice League: Attack of the Legion of Doom.
Update: The LEGO Trickster exclusive minifigure has been confirmed to be included with the movie.
“Crime is on the run as the newly formed Justice League keeps Metropolis safe and this makes evil genius Lex Luthor very unhappy. Together with Black Manta, Sinestro and a gang of ruthless recruits, Lex builds his own league and declares them the Legion of Doom. With this super powered team of terror and a plan to attack the top-secret government site, Area 52, can Lex finally be on the verge of victory? Sound the alarm and get ready for the bricks to fly when Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the Justice League face off against the world’s greatest Super-Villains! It’s the next all-new original movie from LEGO® and DC Comics.”
Just as the results of the Third 2014 LEGO Ideas Review Stage was announced earlier today, another project joins the ranks of potentially becoming an official set. The Caterham Super Seven by bricktrix_Carl is now the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. It project comprises of two of the super-lightweight sports cars in yellow and dark green. Another details of the cars is that there is an option to remove the hood to see the engine details.
Overall, the project shows off a very sleek and realistic look to the iconic cars and looks to be a very fun build. The project now joins the Brick-Built Adventure Time Figures has the ones so far to reach 10k supporters in the Second 2015 Review Stage. It’s still very early in this session so I expect to see quite a few more projects reached the milestone in the next few weeks/months.
LEGO Ideas has just announced the results of the Third 2014 LEGO Ideas Review Stage and the next project to become an official set is the Labyrinth Marble Maze by JKBrickworks. As a result, it is the first board game type project to become an official set. As a kid, I remember playing with the original wooden Labyrinth game and this brings back tons of memories. Soon a new generation of kids with get to enjoy this classic game as well.
LEGO is also still considering the Star Citizen F7A Hornet so we could again potentially see two sets becoming official sets from this review stage. As you can see, there were many projects that were worthy of becoming an official LEGO set but alas there could only be one winner (maybe two).
The First 2015 LEGO Review Stage is currently going on and the results of those projects (shown below) are expected to be announced this fall. Around that same time period, more details of The Big bang Theory, Doctor Who, and WALL•E sets will be revealed as well.
As we slowly get closer to the release of the LEGO Jurassic World video game, there are more details coming out for it. Xbox Achievements has posted the list of achievements that you will be able to get in the game. The PlayStation version of the game will also have these achievements but in the form of trophies broken by rarity.
If you’re a Jurassic Park fan, you might notice some of the names of the achievements which are short quotes from each of the movies. You can pretty much see which achievements go with each movie in the game as all four movies are included in the overall game. I plan on doing a review of the game as well as a guide on how to get all the items in the game as I’ve had pretty good responses on the previous LEGO games. I might also be streaming LEGO Jurassic World from my PS4 on Twitch if I get my setup completed.

The end of April was pretty busy for me as I flew out to attend Philly Brick Fest. While I was there, I received the Brick Builders Club subscription box for April but didn’t get a chance to review it. Today I received the May 2015 box and instead of doing two separate posts for April and May, I might as well combine them into one post. In short, the April box consisted of the exclusive t-shirt, a LEGO Legends of Chima Nest Dive (70105) Speedorz set, five Funky Fig cards, a poster, a 2×3 red #BrickSwag brick, and the Build magazine.
Some of you may know this but besides LEGO as my hobby, I’m also an avid video gamer. I’ve been trying to start up streaming on Twitch but I don’t seem to have the time to. That’s why when I saw this video by andrewmfilms, I was absolutely amazed by it. The video shows various first-person games with the characters being replace by LEGO minifigures including Portal 2, Skyrim, Bioshock, and of course Counter-Strike: Global Offensive aka CS:GO.
The animations are very well done and I especially like the Portal 2 one. If you haven’t been living under a rock for the past month, you would know that Portal 2 will become an official set with LEGO Dimensions this fall. Check out the video below.
