LEGO BIONICLE to be Discontinued at End of 2016

LEGO BIOINICLE

You may or may not have read about it this morning but today marks a sad day in the LEGO community as LEGO has announced that LEGO BIONICLE will be discontinued at the end of 2016 after a two year run.

LEGO BIONICLE was pretty popular when it came back in 2015 and the CCBS community was back in full swing with the revival. There’s no mentioning on why LEGO has decided to end the theme but safe bets are due to lack of sales. LEGO did mention that the final wave of BIONICLE sets will be coming to Europe and North America but will not be released in Asia and the Pacific markets. This usually happens when themes or subthemes are ending such as LEGO Legends of Chima and the LEGO Star Wars Planets sets.

THE CONCLUSION OF “THE JOURNEY TO ONE” MARKS THE END FOR LEGO® BIONICLE® GENERATION 2

Fans, today we have to share the news with you that we have made the tough decision to discontinue LEGO® BIONICLE® at the end of 2016. NETFLIX has just started streaming the final two episodes of “The Journey to One” the ending of which, will put an end to any speculation about the future of LEGO® BIONICLE®.

With the 2015 relaunch of LEGO® BIONICLE®, we set out to revive a childhood favorite of fans worldwide, and bring it to a new group of children who were too young to have known and played with LEGO® BIONICLE® Generation 1. From your wonderful feedback over the last

LEGO SDCC 2016 Marvel BrickHeadz Iron Man & Captain America (41492) Review

LEGO Marvel BrickHeadz Iron Man & Captain America (41492)

This year’s exclusive sets at San Diego Comic Con are the new LEGO BrickHeadz which are also coming in 2017. These sets went for $40 each at the con and the only way to be able to get one was to enter a raffle early in the morning to win a voucher to purchase the set later on in the day. The only BrickHeadz set that I was able to obtain is Iron Man & Captain America (41492) which contains 184 pieces.

LEGO Dimensions SDCC 2016 Roundtable Interview with James Mcloughlin and Arthur Parsons

LEGO Dimensions Year 2

On the last day of San Diego Comic Con 2016, there was a LEGO Dimensions roundtable session with members of the press and I was invited to attend. TT Games Game Directors James Mcloughlin and Arthur Parsons were on hand to answer questions about the LEGO Dimensions Year 2 content which has some exciting new stuff for it. We only had a limited time with each person so there wasn’t that much time to cover every single question that you guys posted but I did manage to sneak a few in. Both interviews were around 17 minutes long so if you have some time, feel free to check it out.

Like with the DC Comics Super Heroes Atom and other previous exclusive minifigures from SDCC, Captain America comes in a clamshell case. The insert has a nice dark blue background with the SDCC 2016 logo on the bottom left alongside the Marvel logo. The back has some advertisement for the LEGO Marvel’s Avengers video game.

As for Captain America minifigure itself, this variant is based on the recently released Captain America: Steve Rogers #1. He also has some belt printing that goes around the back. There Cap also has a star in the middle of the back. LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes SDCC 2016 Atom Minifigure Review

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes SDCC 2016 Atom

At the first day of San Diego Comic Con 2016 this past Thursday, LEGO did their first exclusive minifigure giveaway with the LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Atom. The paper backing is only a single flat sheet unlike last year where you could fold it up to show a scene. In the bottom left corner, you have some printing that signifies that this particular minifigure is from SDCC 2016. There is also the Legends of Tomorrow logo next to the SDCC logo.

As for the minifigure itself, Atom is very detailed throughout. The torso of the A.T.O.M. exosuit has printing the red and blue of the suit as well as some silver. The legs continue with the same type of printing. Atom has a double-sided head with a confident expression on one side and an angry expression on the other. There is also some printing on the head for the chinstrap and blue over the eyes for the visor. Finally, he has a blue helmet to complete his look.

It is very rare that a San Diego Comic Con exclusive minifigure have accessories but Atom also includes a 4×4 plate with four studs. The plate also includes a chipset printing with Palmer Technologies in the middle.

Overall, the SDCC 2016 LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Atom is a very good looking minifigure and is highly detailed. The 4×4 plate was unexpected when it was first revealed but it is a nice addition. The only way to get this exclusive minifigure was to have atteneded San Diego … Continue

LEGO 2017 Rumored Sets and Themes (FALSE)

I’m finally done with San Diego Comic Con 2016 and I’ve had time to check my emails and I see quite a few of you have sent me some stuff regarding some rumored LEGO 2017 sets. Apparently, there are reports of an Italian catalog which shows some of the LEGO sets that might be coming out next year. Again, nothing is confirmed until LEGO officially announces them and anything can change between now and 2017 so these are strictly rumors in my book.

The new Power Rangers movie will be hitting the big screen next year and it appears that there will be sets based on it.

Furthermore, Cars 3 will be in theaters next year as well and it looks like there will be a few sets to go along with it.

Next are some sets based on the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales with sets ranging from 75990-75993. This marks the return of the POTC theme which has done fairly well in the past.

In the LEGO City theme, it looks like there’s something called LEGO Sports with a set called Football/Soccer Goalie Practice (61004).

The LEGO Collectible Minifigures will be returning again and this time, they will have purple packaging.

Finally, for The LEGO Batman Movie, it looks like we’re finally getting a bigfig version of Bane.

Update: It is confirmed that all the information above is false and none of the themes listed are true.

The LEGO Batman Movie SDCC 2016 Official Trailer Now Available

The LEGO Batman Movie

Earlier today at San Diego Comic Con, Warner Bros. had their panel and showed off all the upcoming movies they have on the slate including The LEGO Batman Movie. The official SDCC 2016 trailer of the movie is now available and it there’s all new footage to drool over, especially for all the potential sets that may come out next year.

The trailer also shows Michael Cera as Dick Grayson and him messing around with Batman’s other suits like El Murcielago, Glam Bat, and Raggae Man which turns out to be Robin’s suit of his choosing minus a couple of pieces here and there. There are rumors that there will be a minifigure series based on the movie so don’t be surprised if we see a couple of the suits in the trailer as actual minifigures.

The LEGO Batman Movie will be released in theaters February 2017.
