LEGO Mixels Series 5 - Klinkers

Brickset has posted images of the Series 5 wave of the LEGO Mixels which shows all nine characters in the wave as well as the Max model for each tribe. These were spotted at Toy Fairs earlier in the year but photography of them were prohibited.

The Klinkers have a brown and grey color scheme and has a very steampunk feel to them. The Frosticons make their return with three more characters from the tribe. Finally, the Lixers are mainly yellow with their main features being their tongue.

The Series 5 LEGO Mixels are set to be released in June.

Update: The images were first found on the Mixels Wiki.

Brick Fest Live/Philly Brick Fest 2015 Happening This Weekend

Brick Fest Live/Philly Brick Fest 2015 is happening is weekend and for the second year in a row, I’ll be heading out there to attend the event. There will be tons of MOCs on display from various local LUGs such as PennLUG as well as a number of vendors like The Brick Show, eclipseGRAFX, and Brick Warriors just to name a few. There’s still time to get tickets if you want to attend the public days on Saturday and Sunday.

I look forward to hanging out with friends of the site from the east coast again and meeting new people. If you’re heading out there this weekend, come by and say hello. I’ll be around doing coverage throughout the whole event and be posting on our Facebook Page so make sure you like to page to get the notifications.

Official Release Dates Announced for Upcoming LEGO Movies

Mark your calendars! Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. has given the release dates of three of the upcoming LEGO movies in the next few years. The LEGO Batman spinoff movie will be released on February 10, 2017 and the LEGO Ninjago spinoff movie will move from 2016 to September 22, 2017. Finally, The LEGO Movie Sequel will be slated for May 18, 2018.

Dan Fellman, Warner Bros. President of Domestic Distribution notes, “We are very excited about dating our upcoming Lego animated features, which already have a worldwide fan following, built on the foundation of the first film. These three films already in the pipeline are just the beginning of a creative and diverse animation slate that will be delighting audiences for years to come.”

There’s still no new information about the Batman and Ninjago movies but there have been tidbids on The LEGO Movie Sequel. We know that it’ll take place four years after the first one and Emmet and Wyldstyle will be back along with more female characters. Below is the official press release:

Emmet and Wyldstyle Returning for The LEGO Movie 2

Various tidbids of The LEGO Movie 2 have been coming out slowly but we now have some big information on some of the characters that will be in it. In an interview with Zap2It, Phil Lord and Chris Miller revealed that Emmet will be returning to the sequel along with Wyldstyle which will take place four years after the events of the first movie.

“It picks up where the other one left off,” Lord said. Miller also added, “Emmet and Wyldstyle will be back, and others and there will be new characters as well.”

Given those statements, there’s no mentioning whether Chris Pratt or Elizabeth Banks will be returning to voice The LEGO Movie 2. Hopefully they will be able to return to give the storyline some sort of continuity as we’ve grown to know and love the voices of Emmet and Wyldstyle.

The LEGO Movie 2 will be directed by Rob Schrab with Lord and Miller producing and will be released sometime in 2018.

New Details About LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales

LEGO Star Wars Droid Tales

At the last panel of day 2 at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim, LEGO revealed the trailer for the upcoming Disney XD animated show, LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales. The show will be retelling the Star Wars saga through C-3PO’s eyes.

As I reported before, there will be five 22-minute episodes. Each episode will be divided into the different movies in the saga. The first episode of the show will contain various events from Episode I: The Phantom Menace and Episode II: Attack of the Clones. The second episode will have scenes from Episode III: Revenge of the Sith as well as parts from The Clone Wars. The third episode of Droid Tales will have events from both Episode IV: A New Hope and some from Star Wars Rebels. Episode four will be featuring scenes from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and finally the last 22-minute episode will be for Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

There was also a question and answer session and someone asked will the LEGO Death Star be updated. Obviously, they couldn’t answer it but Jason Cosler did say “Stay tuned for in the future, you’ll be happily surprised with what’s coming out in the future.” If you remember, there was a rumor earlier this month of a new Death Star set coming out next year. I still don’t know if this rumor is reliable or not but keep your eyes peeled.

Droid Tales will be premiering in July and episodes will be airing every month up until … Continue
