Avengers: Age of Ultron Teaser Trailer and LEGO Set Thoughts

Earlier today images of the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer that was supposed to come out next Tuesday started making their way around the internets including the new Hulkbuster armor and Ultron. A little later the leaked video that the images come from made their rounds. Just a short while ago, Marvel decided that instead of waiting for Tuesday after Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to premiere the teaser trailer, they “officially” made it public, partly because they believe they had no other choice since it was already everywhere. Their response to the leaks?

Now to the LEGO aspect of the Avengers: Age of Ultron movie, we already know there will be about six sets related to the movie as well as a rumored UCS Avengers Helicarrier that we exclusively revealed.

How will the movie translate into the official LEGO Marvel Super Heroes AoU sets that will be released next year? It’s still too hard to tell at this point but I can possibly see Black Widow and her motorcycle dropping out of the Quinjet, (76032?). Also, if the the Hulkbuster suit looks somewhat decent looking, I’ll be happy. Hopefully, it’ll be a brick-built Hulkbuster that fits the Iron Man minifigure inside. As we earlier reported, the Hulkbuster would be around the size of Groot from the Guardians of the Galaxy Knowhere Escape Mission (76020).

What are your thoughts on the trailer and how will the LEGO sets could fit in? Let us know in the comments below. … Continue

LEGO The Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart Coming in 2015?

In addition to another wave of the LEGO The Simpsons Minifigures in 2015, a little bird had told me that we could be seeing another set next year, the Kwik-E-Mart. There wasn’t much info given but it was said that it would be a little cheaper than The Simpsons House (71006). I could venture a guess that one of the minifigures in the set would be Apu Nahasapeemapetilon since he runs the Kwik-E-Mart. Another minifig could be his brother Sanjay since he helps out from time to time.

For now, I would take this a rumor but it might be possible that we could be seeing another set considering that another wave of minifigures are being released next year.

Warner Bros. Announce Upcoming LEGO Movie Release Dates

In a shareholder meeting yesterday, Warner Bros. presented details of upcoming LEGO movies and gave tentative release dates for the next three films. With the huge success of The LEGO Movie earlier this year, Warner Bros. is hoping these films will have the same success as well.

As we reported a few months ago, the LEGO Ninjago movie is already scheduled for September 23, 2016. Charlie Bean will be directing the film while Dan and Kevin Hageman will be writing the script.

The recently announced LEGO Batman spinoff, voiced by Will Arnett, will take place on February 10, 2017 which takes the spot that was previously for The LEGO Movie 2. Chris McKay will be directing and Seth Grahame-Smith will be writing the story. Roy Lee, Dan Lin, Phil Lord, and Christopher Miller will be producing.

There were also two more LEGO films slated for Memorial Day weekend in 2018 and 2019. The LEGO Movie 2 will most likely take the May 25, 2018 release date which was also reported back in August. At the same time, there was an untitled LEGO Movie scheduled for May 24, 2019 which could be anything at this point, whether it be LEGO Ninjago or LEGO Batman sequels or even The LEGO Movie 3.

There’s no doubt that there will be official sets that will be released in conjunction with all these movies. Stay tuned as we will be reporting more details about the upcoming LEGO movies as they become available.
