LEGO Speed Champions Logo Found

Just2Good on Eurobricks has found that BrickShop.nl now has a logo for the new LEGO Speed Champions theme that will be released in 2015. For a while, we thought that there would be a Top Gear theme but it looks like there won’t be. Just2Good also mentions that he thinks there could be a Top Gear app that will go along with the sets. We’ll see if that happens or not since LEGO has been moving towards the digital world recently. Below are the sets that have been rumored to come out next year.

Ferrari F150 (75899)
Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 (75908)

STUDS Builder Trading Cards Series 1 Review

We’re back with another review but it’s something a little bit different. We have received our set of the Series 1 STUDS Builder Trading Cards and I was pretty excited for to get them although I wish I got in on the Kickstarter a few years back. If you haven’t heard of if before, STUDS is the brainchild of Brandon Griffith which showcases people in the community who uses LEGO to build unique creations.

STUDS Builder Trading Cards Series 1 STUDS Builder Trading Cards Series 1

The set that I purchased was the Series 1 Factory Set which consists of 96 base cards as well as the 9 card poster set. The box came in a sealed clear plastic and when I opened the box, it gave me a nostalgic feeling inside. You may not know this but I used to collect sports cards and when I opened the box, the distinct smell that the cards gave off took me back to a younger time when I was still collecting and cracking open a fresh pack of cards. The cards are printed on 14pt. gloss coated card with with UV coating.

The first card in the set is the Title Card which is kind of a table of contents for the rest of the cards which includes Featured Artists, Brick Artists, Group Builds, Brick Illustrators, Brick Conventions, Brick Sites, Brick Products, Brick Publications, and the Checklist. Other people who were involved with STUDS include photo editor Tommy Williamson, copy editor Ayleen Gaspar, and illustrator Scott Tolleson.

LEGO Inside Tour 2015 Details Announced

Brickset has reported that LEGO has published details about next year’s LEGO Inside Tour. If you haven’t heard of the LEGO Inside Tour, it takes you on an very unique tour where you can visit Ole Kirk Christiansen’s original house, meet the LEGO designers, as well as take a look at the Billund factory. Another perk that you get from the tour is the exclusive set that is given away to attendees. This year’s set was The LEGOLAND Train (4000014).

If you’ve tried to applying for a spot on the tour before, you know that it’s extremely difficult to get in since they sell out within minutes. The LEGO Inside Tour is even harder to get in than San Diego Comic Con and I know how hard it is to get tickets to SDCC.

Registration for LEGO Inside Tour opens at 1.00 PM on Monday 3 November 2014 (Danish time)

There are four different tours that potential attendees can get in to:

5 May – 8 May
19 May – 22 May
9 June – 12 June
16 June – 19 June

The price for the tour has increased by 10% from 13,000 DKK last year to 14,500 DKK ($2500, £1500, 1900€) this year. Also, travel accommodations to Billund is NOT included so you will have to arrange that yourself.

LEGO BIONICLE is Returning in 2015

LEGO BIOINICLE

LEGO has finally revealed what their big announcement was and it is indeed LEGO BIONICLE will be back in 2015. They’ve posted a video of the Mask of Creation which we already reported on last week so it wasn’t really a big secret considering LEGO accidentally spoiled it earlier this week.

LEGO BIONICLE makes their triumphant return after it was originally discountinued back in 2010 and being replaced by LEGO Hero Factory. BIONICLE was a very popular theme and was one of the themes that brought LEGO back from near bankruptcy (Brick by Brick: How LEGO Rewrote the Rules of Innovation and Conquered the Global Toy Industry).

There’s no doubt that many fans are happy are that this theme is returning next year. BZPower is also reporting that LEGO will be revealing the information about the sets at New York Comic Con on October 9th as well as on social media so stay tuned for that. We already know the set names so they’ll probably reveal some of them at NYCC.

LEGO Announcement Accidentally Revealed? – (Spoilers)

Earlier this morning, we reported that LEGO will be making an announcement to “reveal something very exciting.” It looks like LEGO has accidentally spilled the beans on what this announcement could be.

Over on LEGO’s Google+ post of the same image, you can see the details of the photo and the file name says “Bionicle-4-new.jpg20140915-4177-5fuc51.jpg.” This pretty much almost confirms that they will be announcing the return of LEGO BIONICLE in 2015 and shoots down my guess that it could be the LEGO Ideas results. For many of us in the LEGO community, we already knew about the return of LEGO BIONICLE next year but for the general public who aren’t in the know, this is news to them.

We’ll keep you updated but it kinda lessens the excitement just a tad bit.
