Some Information about LEGO Ideas The Big Bang Theory and WALL•E Sets

To make up for the downtime early this morning, I have some new information about the upcoming LEGO Ideas The Big Bang Theory and WALL•E sets. Many fans have been waiting for any kind information about them but there’s been absolutely nothing so far, until now. This information comes from the same contact who first told us that the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes The Shield Helicarrier (76042), LEGO The Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart (71016), and the LEGO Star Wars UCS TIE Fighter (75095) would be released this year.

For both of the new LEGO Ideas sets, the pricing was said to be at NZD 109.99. What this may mean is that the sets will be the most expensive LEGO Ideas sets to date and will probably be the largest in terms of piece count as well. They also told me that they will be available in New Zealand in September but we usually get the sets a little earlier so I’m thinking around the middle of summer wave sets.

Unfortunately, there is no other information that was given about the sets as well as the LEGO Ideas Doctor Who set. Of course take this information as a rumor but given the track record of our contact who has been correct many times before, I’d say they’re pretty reliable.

Update: Many people have been up in arms over my guess for the price so you can make your own guesses given the NZD that I’ve been told. I did compare pricing of similar priced sets from New Zealand … Continue

Bricksauria – Tyrannosaurus Rex Achieves 10,000 Supporters on LEGO Ideas

The Bricksauria – Tyrannosaurus Rex by senteosan is the latest project to hit 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. If you remember back in 2013, the Tyrannosaurus was part of his LEGO CUUSOO Jurassic Park project before it was archived due to licensing issues. This was also before Jurassic Park sets were allowed again on LEGO Ideas.

As a Jurassic Park/dinosaur fan, I do like the overall look of the set and it would make a great display piece. The Bricksauria – Tyrannosaurus Rex project now joins The Discworld, Science Adventures, the Medieval Market Street, Disney Princess Frozen: Elsa’s Ice Palace, and the Douglas DC-3 to qualify for the First 2015 Review Stage.

LEGO Ideas Exo Suit (21109) Decomissioned Today

Just a reminder, today is the last day to order the LEGO Ideas Exo Suit (21109) from Shop@Homeicon as it will be decomissioned, aka retired. You can also pick up the set on Amazon if you want to go that route. The Exo Suit was one of the top sets in 2014 and even became sold out for a short time when it was first released. I’m not sure what will happen once March rolls around but I wouldn’t wait if you still don’t have a set yet. There might be some sets still lingering in stores after today but I believe this is it for the Exo Suit.

Douglas DC-3 Achieves 10,000 Supporters on LEGO Ideas

Douglas DC-3

The Douglas DC-3 by Ssorg is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The aircraft is a fixed-wing propeller airliner that transformed air travel in the 1930s and 1940s and had the most impact in World War II. The set comes in at 18 inches in length with a 26 inch wingspan and includes some plays features such as a turn knob to retract and extend the landing gear as well as a removable top to access the interior. You can check out the landing gear feature in this video.

The project now joins The Discworld, Science Adventures, the Medieval Market Street, and the Disney Princess Frozen: Elsa’s Ice Palace to qualify for the First 2015 Review Stage.

LEGO Ideas Exo Suit (21109) Officially Retiring

The highly anticipated and very popular LEGO Ideas Exo Suit (21109) will be officially retired. The project by Peter Reid encompasses the feelings of the LEGO Space theme with the design of the Exo Suit as well as the minifigures included. Unfortunately, all things must come to an end and for the Exo Suit, it will be gone on at the end of February.

You can still order the set on Amazon or Shop@Homeicon but there are very limited quantities available. You may still also find them in LEGO Stores and possibly other retailers like Target and Toy R Us but the best chance to get it is still online. We’ve done a review of the Exo Suit (21109) and you can read more on it if you like.

Disney Princess Frozen: Elsa’s Ice Palace Achieves 10,000 Supporters on LEGO Ideas

The Disney Princess Frozen: Elsa’s Ice Palace by Fohzen is the latest project to hit 10,000 on LEGO Ideas. This project was inspired by the movie and was submitted before the official LEGO Disney Princess Elsa’s Sparkling Ice Castle (41062)icon was released late last year. This version of the castle is made with more translucent bricks to give it a more natural ice look to it.

Elsa’s Ice Palace will be joining The Discworld, Science Adventures, and the Medieval Market Street as qualifiers for the First 2015 Review Stage. Although the project was created before the official set was released, it has a small chance of passing due to LEGO having an active license with Disney and they even stated in the comments, “a project based on an existing LEGO license has a smaller chance of passing the LEGO Review than other projects.” Many fans of the project would like to see this set be produced but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Medieval Market Street Achieves 10,000 Supporters on LEGO Ideas

The Medieval Market Street project by AlexP is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The project features a very detailed market along with some medieval houses which are all three stories high and have different styles and advanced building techniques. Some of the buildings include a blacksmith, pub, stables, and a Sheriff’s residence. The market itself is filled with little stands that are selling various food items. You can check out more images and the backstory of the Town of Lev over on AlexP’s MOCpages. The project would go great with the LEGO Castle Medieval Market Village (10193) from 2008 but it actually looks a bit cooler than the official one.

The Medieval Market Street joins The Discworld and Science Adventures as the projects so far to qualify for the First 2015 Review Stage.
