LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded Eligible for Release Date Delivery

I’ve just received an email stating that my order for LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded on Amazon is now eligible for release date delivery. The book is updated with 72 additional pages of new minifigures that have been released since 2011 which you can also purchase on Amazon for 66% off the retail price. The Updated and Expanded version will be released in exactly two weeks on April 28.

LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded also includes the exclusive White Boba Fett minifigure which is based on the prototype armor used in the screen test for the movie. This will also be an updated White Boba Fett with the first one being used for various promotions 15 years ago.

Let the LEGO Dimensions Character Guessing Game Begin!

Deskp on Eurobricks has posted a image of the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack box which shows a list of characters that will be in some of the expansion Fun Packs, Team Packs, and Level Packs. We already know a lot of them during the reveals last week but there are still some that are a mystery. The image shows the top of the box but rotated using Photoshop so it’s still blurry.

For some of the future characters, I already noted them in my speculation post but there are a few that raises more questions than giving answers. One of the characters is listed as #3. Many people on the forums have been guessing that it is Chell from Portal video game series. Way back in 2012, the Thinking With Portals! project on LEGO CUUSOO reached the review stage but ultimately failed at becoming an official set. In 2013, the Wizard of Oz set also reached the review stage and didn’t pass either but the theme will officially be used in LEGO Dimensions later this year. If that third character on the box is actually Chell, that means that LEGO has obtained a licence to create a minifigure of her as well. Plus it makes sense since a Portal would completely fit in with the LEGO Dimensions.

Now that we’ve seen the top of the box at a different angle, who are your guesses for the characters listed? Click on the image above to see a larger version. Guessing is fun but we … Continue

LEGO Dimensions Future Theme Speculation

LEGO Dimensions

Now that we’ve had time to soak in the announcement of the new LEGO Dimensions with the Starter Packs and the Expansion Packs and seen the LEGO themes that have been revealed so far, let’s take a look at what other themes we could be seeing in the future being included in the video game. We can see from the image above that the top of the box shows lots of minifigures from the Fun, Team, and Level Packs that have already been revealed and even some that haven’t been announced yet. This is purely a speculation post and feel free to comment below on what themes you would like to see to be included in future LEGO Dimensions expansion packs.

Back to the Future

This theme is pretty much confirmed with the Back to the Future Level Pack which includes Marty McFly, the DeLorean Time Machine, and the Hoverboard. Whether or not we’ll be seeing other characters in the future remains to be seen.

BIONICLE

Since LEGO Dimensions is about the minifigures, I’m not so sure that LEGO BIONICLE will fit the concept. They did have some figures during the original run but they weren’t your typical minifigures. The thing that BIONCLE has going for them is that it’s LEGO own IP.

City

Although LEGO City is one of the more popular themes, I don’t see it being a good fit.

DC Comics Super Heroes

DC Comics is already a shoe-in with Batman being in the Starter Packs and other characters already revealed in Fun Continue

LEGO Store April 2015 Monthly Mini Build Event UFO (40129) Review

LEGO April 2015 Monthly Mini Build

Earlier this week, the LEGO April 2015 Monthly Mini Build took place and I was able to attend the event. For this month, the build was a little UFO (40129) which continues the Space type builds for this year. The event itself seemed extra busy, maybe because kids are still on Spring Break.

LEGO April 2015 Monthly Mini Build - UFO (40129)

The 39 piece UFO is a simple build and has your typical UFO look to it. There isn’t much to say about it but I do like the color scheme and there are a few useful parts like the clear dome and dish pieces.

Next month’s build will stray away from the Space theme and be introducing a Koala (40130). Props to the Fashion Valley LEGO Store staff for keeping it running smoothly. If you missed out on this month’s building event, there are two more chances with the LEGO Club Meetings on April 18 & 25.

LEGO Ideas RMS Titanic Achieves 10,000 Supporters

Stepping away from the exciting LEGO Dimensions news today, I have some more LEGO Ideas news to report. The RMS Titanic by Ssorg enters the First 2015 Review Stage fray as it becomes the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. Ssorg has proposed two different sized builds for the passenger liner depending on what LEGO decides to do while reviewing it. Note that the sizes of the Titanic are scaled according to the real one.

The projects is the fourth one to hit 10k supporters on LEGO Ideas in the last 6 days and joins a crowded list in the review stage which includes The Discworld, Science Adventures, Medieval Market Street, Disney Princess Frozen Elsa’s Ice Palace, Douglas DC-3, Bricksauria – Tyrannosaurus Rex, the International Space Station, The Golden Girls, and The Legend of Zelda: King of Red Lions Play Set. I believe this will also have the most sets in a single review stage with 10 projects currently vying for that coveted spot to become an official set. Ssorg doubles his chances in this review stage since his Douglas DC-3 also reaching 10k supporters earlier this year.
