LEGO Build-a-Minifigure Tower Temporarily Unavailable

It looks like the Coronavirus situation has been affecting things more and more by each day and the latest one is at LEGO Stores here in the US. As you can see from the image above, the LEGO Build-a-Minifigure tower has been cleared out completely. This was at the Las Vegas location but I think all locations across the world will be doing the same thing soon.

If you saw some of my previous posts, LEGO has been doing a lot to help with the situation. First they have temporarily closed the LEGO House for few weeks, possibly longer, and they have also turned off Bricks & Pieces for ordering to keep workers who pick the parts safe. LEGO has also instructed some employees to work from home as well. In the LEGO fan community, many events have been cancelled or moved to a different date so far.

Thanks to Barry for the heads up.

2015 Third Quarter LEGO Store Build-A-Minifigure Bar Elements

LEGO Store Build-A-Minifigure 3rd Quarter 2015

At the beginning of July, LEGO Stores changed out their Build-A-Minifigure bar and there are now some new elements for you to choose from. I picked out every single part of each element I could find at the station so some of the parts might be leftovers from last quarter.

For the torsos above, the most notable ones I found was the Kingdoms lion torso and the Monster Fighters jacket.

For the legs, there isn’t much that stand out. There is the Curtis Bolt Ultra Agents black legs with the blue screen that could be useful for some sci-fi characters. The blue jeans are good for any general use. Finally the white spaceman ones are also available.

For the head accessories, I’m not sure which ones are for this quarter because I forgot to document which ones were for last quarter so here’s everything I could find from my store. The selection at your store may vary but there should be some of these in all locations. As you can see, there’s a nice variety to choose from.

For the heads, again I apologize for not being sure which ones are from this quarter’s change out since my store was out of the new heads last quarter. However what I found in this selection are some pretty cool ones like the ghost head from Lord of the Rings and a couple of the female Ultra Agents ones.

2015 Second Quarter LEGO Store Build-A-Minifigure Bar Elements

While I was at the LEGO Store yesterday taking pictures of the new Pick-A-Model sets on the Pick-A-Brick wall, I also got a chance to take a look at the Build-A-Minifigure bar as well. Like with the PAB Wall, the Minifigure bar was also changed out on the first of the month with some elements that haven’t been there, at least to my knowledge. There might have been some parts I missed while I was there so I may update the images when I go to the Mini Model Building event on Tuesday.

For the torsos, I like the inclusion of the Space minifigure floating and the airport crew ones.

For the legs, I feel like I missed a couple but below are the ones I found.

There are a bunch of great accessories that are in this quarter including the pretty rare brown cat and the seagull which only came with the Sea Captain from the Series 10 Collectible Minifigures. The armor piece is also pretty rare because it only came with the Heroic Knight from Series 9. The 2×2 tile pieces are pretty neat which are from the Galaxy Squad theme. I think I’ve also seen the gray katanas for this quarter but I wasn’t able to find them.

2015 First Quarter LEGO Store Build-A-Minifigure Bar Elements

LEGO Build-A-Minifigure Bar

I recently featured the new 2015 first quarter LEGO Store Pick-A-Brick Wall elements and while I was there, I also had a chance to take a look at some of the new stuff on the Build-A-Minifigure bar. There were so many things I haven’t seen there so some of them might have been available before but I didn’t notice them. Note the above image is from the previous quarter because I forgot to take a picture of it with the new stuff. Again, most of these elements will be available at different locations but some stores may not have the same ones.

For the heads, the one that stood out the most for me is the queasy guy’s head from the LEGO Creator Fairground Mixer (10244). The set was released just last year and I was surprised to see that head available already. Another head that stood out was the Overlord’s from the LEGO Ninjago Battle for Ninjago City (70728). It might not fit in with many things but it’s cool for some themed MOCs. The rest are some general ones that you can use in many situations.

Fourth Quarter LEGO Build-A-Minifigure Station Elements

LEGO Store Fourth Quarter Build-A-Minifigure parts

It’s fall and that means the new fourth quarter Build-A-Minifigure bar elements are now available at LEGO Brand Stores. There are a lot of new items that you can choose from for your minifigures. Let’s check out what’s new to the BAM bar, shall we?

The first thing is the torsos that are offered. One torso is the sunset torso that’s been in a few LEGO City sets. There are also a couple female torsos from LEGO Castle Kingdoms. The torso of the Artist from the Series 4 Collectible Minifigures series is also available.

For the leg pieces, there is a Witch dress piece and Surfer shorts (thanks Purple Dave) from Series 2 Collectible Minifigures and a fur leg piece from the Ice Fisherman from Series 5. There’s also another leg piece that I can’t recognize at this time. Maybe some of you readers can recognize it. If you can, leave it in the comments below.

With the Build-A-Minifigure station, you also get some head gear to go with your minifigs including a Santa hat, a witch hat, a cowboy hat, and a Aldrich Killian brown hairpiece.

Finally, the minifigures have some accessories to go along with them. Some of these accessories include a pizza, pretzel, a pink wand, messenger bag, camera, and a clear goblet.

If you have a LEGO Store nearby, you may want to check out the Build-A-Minifigure station to see all the new parts that are being offered. Most LEGO Stores will have a similar selection but your mileage may vary. I’ll … Continue

New LEGO Store Build-A-Minifigure Bar Elements

LEGO Build-A-Minifigure Bar

In addition to the new elements in the LEGO Pick-A-Brick Wall, the Build-A-Minifigure bar at the LEGO Stores also recently got some new items as well. Yesterday while I was checking out the very cool SDCC-themed community window, I also took a look at some of the new offerings at the minifigure bar.

A couple of things that may be new to the bar are some random torsos and legs from the Collectible Minifigures line. For the torsos, there were the Fitness Instructor from Series 5, the Hippie from Series 7, and even the vendor from the Balloon Cart (40108) polybag. For the legs, the selection included the Pop Star and Weightlifter from Series 2, the Hazmat Guy from Series 4, and the Boxer from Series 5.

A new piece that is available for the first time that I know of is the ghost shroud with open mouth. This pieces takes the place of the hair/hat piece so if you want some more ghosts in your collection, here’s another way to get some. The other new piece is for the accessory and that is the light bluish grey trophy cup. There are also capes but I’m not sure if they have been offered before or not.

Overall, there are some pretty cool pieces that are now available at the Build-A-Minifigure bar. These pieces may have shown up previously as I don’t frequent the bar that much when I go to the store but I have been informed that the Ghost and trophy pieces … Continue
