The 1,849 piece build features an old school arcade with a coin operated sports car, claw grabber, super bike, and car racer. LEGO has announced that the LEGO Ideas First 2023 Review Stage is now set with a record breaking 71 projects that qualified for it. Technically it was 73 but two of them were archived with no explanation. I was actually surprised that I kept up with all of them given that the previous record was 57 back in 2021. How many projects do you think will actually pass? I have my bets on about three that will become official LEGO Ideas sets.

At the end of March, The Hearthean’s Ship from Outer Wilds by SuperSirLink reached the 10,000 supporter mark on LEGO Ideas but unfortunately, that victory was short lived as it will not be going into the First 2023 Review Stage. On the official LEGO comments tab, it has been stated that the project has been archived and is no longer considered to become a set. The reason why LEGO came to this decision was communicated to the fan builder privately. This is the second project for this stage that has been archived with the other one being the Gothic Castle.

The LEGO Ideas Test Lab has launched a new Pick a Brick challenge and if your design is selected, fans will be able to purchase directly through the Pick a Brick hub. This new challenge is to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the LEGO minifigure and the mission is to make a build between 150-200 elements to create a customizable display. It must be big enough to display at least four minifigures and can work with both minifigures and minidolls.

LEGO has officially revealed the next LEGO Ideas set with Tales of the Space Age (21340). Releasing on May 5 for VIPs, the set has 688 pieces and retail for $49.99. The set features posters with visual style from the 80s that tells the stories of the space age in a minimalistic way.

REACH FOR THE STARS WITH THE NEW LEGO TALES OF THE SPACE AGE

12th April 2023: The LEGO Group unveils a set bound to blast off the shelves – the LEGO Ideas Tales of the Space Age set. Based on minimalistic expression of the romance of the universe, alongside having the same visual style as the classic posters from the 80s, the set colourfully expresses the tales of the space age with a retro graphic made from LEGO bricks.

The four-piece postcard sized set is vibrant and showcases an overarching story of a space shuttle, moon base, black hole, lunar eclipse, different star constellations and more. Additionally, it offers lots of flexibility in how it can be arranged, as each picture is physically independent of the others.

Designed by Poland based, LEGO fan designer Jan Woźnica who is an IT Professional when not building with LEGO bricks. Jan entered the LEGO Ideas ‘Out of This World’ challenge and was inspired by the classic sci-fi posters and book covers when creating this design.

The Moon: Earth’s Companion by SharkyBricks is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The 2,360 piece build features a poster of the Moon as well as showing the different phases of it.
